I understand that this is a very popular local spot. It must be the portion size. Basically it is somewhere between a meat and three and a restaurant trying to be all things to all patrons. Not impressed with either aspect. There is some neat art on the walls for sale.

Bring your wallet! This place charges for everything. Get the pork chop and if you want it fried? yep extra. Want to share an entree? Yep there's a charge for that. Want you're brussel sprouts brunt to a crisp? They got you. Saving grace, the portions were fairly large. And our 2nd server was very good. The 1st left.

The acoustics were abysmal, owing to all hard, flat building surfaces and only a partial wall between dining and kitchen area. A throbbing, pressurized, mechanical sound competed with conversation. I'm not sure if they even tried to pipe music in over all of that... This is a Greenville landmark for a reason; people are delightful, food is delicious, and service is excellent!

I order a Caesar salad with my blkn salmon pasta. The Caesar salad I could not eat because the lettuce was hot/limp/wet. The lettuce did not have a crunch. So I did not eat it.
My friend order the Caesar salad. It came out the same way. The woman manager on duty got so defensive & nasty with my friend. She should not be in management.
Our server was wearing a mask, so i asked him if he was ill with covid or just wearing it for his own protection. The reason I asked is because I am vulnerable. He got all pissy and announced angrily that he would not wait on me. I tried to explain why I had asked the question, I practically apologized for asking, but he continued to ignore me, and walked away. So rude. Had a different server, and when the bill came I saw I had been charged $22 for a BLT because I had avocado and romaine lettuce added, which I thought was way out of market price. Then, I tried to explain my bad experience to the manager and she was even more rude than the server. Will never go back.

BE AWARE!!! The worse experience of our life. Because the portion sizes were huge my friend and I opted to share a meal. When speaking with the server we let her know our wishes and asked for an extra plate. The server tells us that the empty extra plate would cost $4.95. This cost came as a shock so we said we will just eat off the same plate. The owner (older lady) came over, she was abrasive and dismissive as she attempted to explain the charges. The food came out and with the extra plate. We explained to the new server that we did not want the extra plate because of the charge. She stated that we would not be charged. The owner (older lady) came back over and said that the $4.95 fee was the cost to share a meal with the plate or without. The owner (older lady) said “are we good or would you like to come back another day”? We then asked for a To go box so that we can just take our food home to eat. The Owner (older lady) then takes the food off the table and says “come back another day, good night”.

This is my new favorite spot the food was perfect. I would definitely try the chicken cordin Bleu it was cooked perfect with real ham and cheese. The server was just as amazing as the food I would recommend Merdad to take care of you.
