This restaurant is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I apologize for not taking any photos , I was way too busy enjoying the meal and creating small talk with the super quick and sweet waiters. Such a friendly environment. I 100% recommend!!

So good! My expectations weren't super high, but the dining room is very nice and my massaman curry was exactly what I wanted - the chicken was thinly sliced, and the spices are perfect. I don't know that I'd call it a true Thai restaurant - you can't really adjust the spice level, though I suppose you can ask to make it spicier if you like. Our server (Devon, I think?) was quick and helpful and we had a very nice meal. I'm glad it was open on a Sunday night!

Basil Thai offers an enjoyable dining experience with very good food and a good atmosphere. The restaurant's rice, with its distinct smoky flavor, stands out as one of the best I've had at a Thai restaurant. The service is prompt and attentive. I was quickly seated. However, the prices may seem slightly high, especially when compared to other Thai restaurants in the city. While the food and service are commendable, the value for the price may give diners pause.Food-wise, I would recommend the place for anybody craving Thai.Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free options

This is a review solely of the food as we ordered carryout. We ordered Egg rolls (spring rolls), Tom Kha Gai, Pad See Eu, Masaman Curry and Chicken Satay for a total of $93. Even disregarding the hefty price tag, this food was flavorless. The Tom Kha was the real standout in the bland Olympics that was this meal; chewy, dry chicken despite being in soup. Most of it ended up down the drain. There are better, cheaper and more authentic Thai restaurants in town: go there instead.

Probably one of my fav places in Greenville! The shrimp wontons are so delicious! The soups, you HAVE to have a pear martini! And ofcourse the Pad Thai. I haven’t had a bad meal here. Our server was kind enough to comp a key lime pie for our anniversary and it too was delicious!

Delicious food. It's American Thai for sure. But really good. Tom Yum soup is delicious. We got Basil entree which was delicious too. Not too spicy and I think for many folks it's a good thing. But of course you can add sauces if you choose. Very nice ambiance. Fun for groups. Service was warm and welcoming. Definitely visit if you are looking for good food and great people.

I really liked this place when it first opened. It seems like they have let things run their course. The food was good but not great and the restaurant was getting "tired" looking. We were seated by a window and it's obvious the window had not been cleaned on the inside and outside in quite awhile. The outdoor terrace area looked 'tired' as well.

Great downtown Greenville location with easy parking access from the Aloft parking garage. Love the fried wonton appetizer and I have tried several of the Thai dishes and they have all been very good. Love the Pad Thai and the chicken fried rice for the faint of heart. They have a nice range of heat for those wanting little to those wanting spicy. Decent wine and beer selections as well. I could eat here weekly.

My partner and i stopped here to eat on a whim, we were downtown and hungry. The inside of the restaurant is lovely, we were able to grab a spot by the window that was nice and intimate without a reservation which was nice. Our waitress started out ok, I ordered us the wontons to start and a bottle of Riesling, both were very good and came out promptly. Our waitress did rush our order a bit, asking for our entrees before wine or or apps came out but i figure she was busy as it was 5:30 and it was picking up. We didn't see her for a while after that but our food came out fairly quickly. it was decent, nothing i would write home about but not bad either. Our waitress cleared our plates without asking us while i was still eating, i was so surprised i didn't really get a chance to say anything which was disappointing, we definitely had the feeling we were being rushed out. I planned on ordering dessert and another bottle of wine but i decided against it since it seemed like they wanted us gone. I was curious if it was because we're on the younger side and perhaps they thought we couldn't afford it. I tipped her well even though her service was pretty bad. probably wouldn't try again.

Everything was wonderful. From the moment we walked in the door until our departure we experienced stellar hospitality. It was very crowded and everyone was very efficient and friendly. One of our favorites in downtown Greenville.

I have been to many Thai restaurants before and I am familiar with the cuisine. I don’t know why they chose not to put the original Thai dish descriptions on the menu. Let me say that the menu is very ‘Americanized’ and the fact that they have asked if we would like chopsticks (yes we are at the Asian restaurant after all). I guess since it is in the heart of Downtown the prices are super high, but I feel like our dining experience didn’t feel like an expensive restaurant to justify it. And the dining area got very smoky and smelled like grilling, I suggest that they invest in better vents in the kitchen. The service was friendly and quick.
