As a Bavarian, I know German cooking. When you think German restaurant, this would imply producing quality food but this is further from the truth. Service was average, but at times, it seemed like we were being ignored. I grew up enjoying the large pretzels in Munich and wanted to experience this first hand. Here is the scope. for starters, the pretzel was super dry and tough. The cheese dip wasn't good, tasted like it was the cheapest cheese sauce you could buy. I requested butter. What they gave me was butter flavored oil/ margarine. Their so-called schnitzel should be a crime. It's like a German establishment had a baby with McDonald's and produced this low quality version that I still can't believe was served to us. The schnitzel was super tough, it wasn't properly seasoned nor pounded correctly, it's like they sent the meat in a roller machine and cooked it in this butter flavored oil which didn't help the taste. The size of the schnitzel was like a tea saucer plate, super small. The cucumber salad was tasty. However, the pure laziness not to remove the skin of the cucumber made it hard to enjoy. The spatzle wasn't my favorite either. It was chewy and bland. Overall, I would never come back. It was the worst experience eating German food that was done in the most laziest way. The environment was cozy and nice but it's doesn't work if the food can't live up to the decor. As a German American, this place needs a kitchen clean up big time and an authentic German chef. You can't go wrong with the beer, they probably get people to drunk to notice the lack in quality of food. I would not go here period.

Atmosphere would be great for date night. There is a good beer selection. I was not as impressed by the food but when I visit again I will try a different menu item.
Best German restaurant in town! They have the loveliest staff, and the food is always out quick, and delicious! Great beer too.

I went this Friday to H&F and ordered a Weißwurst. The Weißwurst was rancid, old and not edible. I got one sausage with spicy mustard for $9. Very overpriced. I gave the sausage back and got the same old sausage again. Same problem, the sausage was rancid and inedible. Very unprofessional.
