7/01/22 First time trying J-Roz A Greek Joint. Welcomed at the entrance by a smiling female hostess, we had dinner reservations for 6:30 p.m. confirmation emailed to us by Google.
The restaurant is sunny, bright and beautifully decorated and has a view of North Main Street. There is a beautiful bar area that numerous people enjoyed during our visit.
Our server tonight was Bryson. He was friendly, courteous answered our questions about drinks, appetizers, entrees, & desserts and quickly handled our requests.
We loved the drinks, tried a Negroni, Caribbean Mules, and a North Carolina Bold Rock Apple Cider.
For appetizers we had the Zucchini Fries with tzatziki and the Saganaki flambeed Cheese with pita points.
Antonio was the server who lit the flaming Greek cheese to entertain us all.
Bryson was quick to refill our water ask if we needed anything and clear away dishes. Bryson, Antonio and other staff members ensured everything was brought to us promptly.
Our entree's were Moussaka with a side Greek Salad and house Greek dressing,
Greek Chicken with a side of Green Beans, & Greek Potato Salad, & Fire roasted Sea Bass with Greek Rice & Spinach and Roasted Beets. Everything was so delicious and fresh, the ingredients and cooking techniques were superlative. Executive Chef/Owner John Makkas is a master of fine dining Greek food.
Open for lunch as well this is a place we shall return to soon.

Wow! Their Hours listed online say they’re open until 9:30pm east coast time.(it’s Wednesday)
Arrived at 8:11pm, employee says that they aren’t taking anymore orders, that they are done for the night. There was a table of 5-6 people sitting and eating and two people at the bar. Maybe if they learned something about customer service their restaurant wouldn’t be dead as a doorbell! Never giving them another chance. Such a duchy thing to treat customers like that.

I've travel to Greece twice, grew up in NYC and the outer boroughs visiting Astoria a Greek community for restaurants. I must say Ji-Roz in Greenville, SC deserves to have lines of people waiting to get in. The braised lamb shank was suggested by the waitress, Sadie. WOW! The meat was so tender falling off the bone, so juicy, so tasty due to a delectable tomato-brown gravy. Best lamb I ever had in my life. Even if you are not a lamb lover you should try this and guaranteed will become a convert. The dish came with the perfect accoutrements: light, fluffy, creamy mash potatoes which flourished admist the brown-tomato based gravy and a uniquely prepared carrots. My husband enjoyed the fresh octopus and we both loved the calamari appetizer as it was lightly breaded and tender, not rubbery like many restaurants. We then asked for a dessert suggestion. Both Sadie the waitress and hostess Taylor stated ALL desserts are freshly made on the premises and to try the Zemek Dessert made of layersof : shredded, buttery, sweet filo dough on the bottom, custard in the middle and whip cream on top.....to die for!!! I must say ALL the dishes were fresh, cooked and seasoned to perfection. This was the best GREEK RESTAURANT I've been too in 67 years and the staff couldn't have been nicer. Do yourself a favor and experience a night at Ji-Roz in Greenville, SC. It will be money well spent! Congratulations to the chefs, staff and managers for providing a wonderful dining experience and SUPERB FOOD!

Food: For any area without good gyros and lamb dishes, this one has the best (for the area). - Appetizers: The wood-fired octopus is very good, but I had definitely better. The Falafel is the house creation, it is not the falafel you tried in the middle east or even referred as middle eastern falafel. Tastes good… but it is NOT true or authentic falafel, not even close. - Entrée/main dishes: The pulled lamb gyro is “The Best” of its kind….. Highly recommended. The common gyro is excellent (in this area) Th sides: The fries are perfect. The gigantes on the other hand are terrible, in preparation and taste (please either improve, or remove from the menu) - Desserts: skipped for lunch Drinks: - the sweet tea…. You will love it. Service: very nice and friendly waiting staff. They are just tired and slow. Ambience/atmosphere: Not a fine dining, very casual, indoor and out-door seatings. Value: Fairly priced. Overall rating! 4 out of 5 Recommendations: Highly recommended for the dishes we liked above. But, I will come back after 4pm to try the shank of lamb and on fri/sat, to try the Branzino

Very good!! Service was great i loved the lamb appetizer platter. The paring was excellent a very good choice of cheese, pickle, lamb and tzatziki sauce! The shrimp scapatini was delicious 10/10 id definitely get again! The pasta lamb was ok, good but id take the shrimp over it.

The espresso martini was perfectly made a good mix of salt and espresso on the rim it was perfectly put together.

Prices were a little high but not outrageous for downtown Greenville. Parking was also great on a Friday night!

Overall a good place to sit, eat, chill and enjoy!

Atmosphere was on point. It’s got a good 50/50 split between intimate and family style seating with the low dim lights overhead. Right on.

Our server was one of two, and she was bussin’. Covered half the place with no err. Kind, lovely, pleasant.

The special was recommended— shrimp and grits. Hands down one of the best I’ve had - and I travel and eats shrimp and grits like Dave Portnoy rates pizza. Put on your main menu!

My wife and I also tried their octopus, filafel, and ofc the wings. All great and recommend. Wings coulda had more seasoning but w salt n pepper, they were great.

Drinks were super tasty but strong , so enjoy!

Thank you!
