Nice staff, cute atmosphere. Very overpriced. I had vegetarian Jambalaya, and it was basically spicy rice and a very small portion. Way too expensive for what it was. Ceviche was not typical, basically raw fish, not cooked in the typical acidic way. My husband did love his mulled old fashioned. Probably won't go back with all of the good options in town.

Food: The food was tasty, a little offbeat, as expected. Everything our table of 4 ordered was very good. Portions were not too big or too small. Vibe: We chose to sit outdoors expecting to see the sunset at dinner. The sunset was lovely. We did not expect to be facing the busy highway - it would be nicer if there were speakers in the gardens around the dining patio to push music towards the diners to drown out the auto noises. As it was, the music was behind us and could not be heard most of the time. The lighting was shoddy, flickering on/off all night. Better lighting at the table would have helped, maybe even a candle. Tables were cheap patio furniture. I expected a better vibe. Service: First off, please update the menu to state the "rules" of the tasting menu - all at table must participate. As it was, we were prepped to order and some wanted tasting menu and some not. Then we had to go back to the drawing board once explained. When we asked our server about food, she quoted from memory exactly what was on the menu instead of explaining details about the dishes. We were seated at the farthest table from the kitchen which I suspect limited the number of visits staff made to our table to check if we needed anything. Appetizer sharing plates remained on table as we ate our entrees, even though their serving dishes were removed - clutter. We mistakenly ordered beer just as our food was arriving. It was delivered after we finished our food. And the check took forever to get given how few people were still there. Overall: As I said, the food was good and the cocktails were nice. But for the cost of the meal & service, we expected more from the vibe and service we were given.

Had never been to Oak Hill Cafe for dinner so decided to give it a try recently. Thought the menu was a bit weird and I consider myself to be a pretty flexible and adventurous diner. What we did order was just OK. Also, the service was poor - very slow and not attentive. Won't we coming back.

A May 2022 visit, about 13:45 we arrived. We were told 'we close at 14:00, we said okay and we're turning around to leave - but she said come on in'! I said thank you! Empty - we were seated at a nice table by the window looking towards Poinsett. The water & menus came and later so did the waiter. Whom I believe to be one of the owners. He asked if we had been here before and we said no - he explained 'we're from California'! 'We have a large garden and grow our own vegetables, etc!' I asked for a coke - and surprisingly he said 'we don't have carbonated drinks'. I knew my wife was hungry, so no debate - I ordered a water, without carbonation. Honestly I do not remember what my wife ordered (something leafy) but I ordered a $21.00 Burger and asked for fries - but they do not serve fries - they have something like homemade vegetable chips - not bad, but fries are better. I was impressed with the Burger, it had great flavor, but the the lettuce was a bit earthy. All in all a good experience if you don't mind paying $60 and change for a Burger, salad, and a wonderful Tres Leches for desert. Cheers!

This was our first time checking out Oak Hill and it was everything we wanted and more. The ambience is super cute with an eclectic farmhouse appeal. The parking was a little challenging but to be expected dining at a quaint spot right off the highway. We made a reservation, which is highly recommended and were immediately seated by a friendly hostess. Our server was so attentive, explained the dishes and ensured we had the best brunch experience. We also had a chance to check out the cute little farm around back. Definitely recommend the flatbread and the empanadas, and the shrimp and grits were so yum and light on a summer day. Worth your while on this gem!

What a gem of a restaurant. I have driven past here numerous times on my way to Greenville and it has been on my list of places to try. Fortunately a friend suggested we meet there for dinner and I jumped at the chance. It was busy, but not crowded, on a Wednesday evening. They were more than accommodating with some of our dietary restrictions, although we did have to send one item back to have the breadcrumbs left off even though my friend had already identified as gluten free. But other than that, the dinner was so lovely, and the atmosphere was amazing! I can't wait to go back and enjoy the outdoor bar area on a weekend. The greens on my salad were obviously fresh from the farm, and they made a point of explaining how much they focus on hyper local (if not grown on their farm, then sourced within 20-30 miles, with the exception of seafood). The presentation was lovely and the portions were well sized, but not overwhelming. Can't wait to return to share this hidden gem.

First time trying Oak Hill Cafe for brunch. When I went to order the French toast I was told that they had run out. I then tried to order the breakfast tacos and was told that they were also out of those. With such a small menu this was a disappointment. I ended up ordering the croissant breakfast sandwich which was tasty but the croissant was toasted to the point where it was hard as a rock. Not to mention it took us an hour to receive our food after we ordered, when there were only three of us and we all ordered variations of scrambled eggs. An hour to cook scrambled eggs seems a little absurd. Not to mention they forgot to bring my grandfathers latte and then the waitress said she never heard my grandfather order the latte despite their lengthy discussion about sugar free syrup options and milk substitutions. Overall, okay breakfast food but the service could definitely be improved.

We loved our dining experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious. The service, top-notch and the coctails were perfect. We will return the next time we are in town.

Oak Hill Cafe was mentioned as the best restaurant in Greeneville, SC. So naturally we had to try it. It did not disappoint. The setting is quaint - a converted house with 3 indoor dining areas and an outdoor patio. Outside is a farm where they grow a lot of the produce they use.Servers were very helpful and friendly (and accommodating to special requests). The choice of mixed drinks and wines was very good.Food was excellent. Both the duck mole and the pork with guava sauce were cooked to perfection. Sauces and accompaniments were right on. The mushroom pate appetizer was delicious and decadent. Desserts were very good. The tres leches cake, however, was really a take on one, as it had barely any of the "leche". We prefer a more soaked, traditional cake. Also, portions were just a bit too small.Parking is fairly ample and reservations seem to be had fairly easily - for now. We doubt that will last!

The food was good, not amazing but good. The vibe was so so... it's a house on my top of a hill with white walls. I was charged $6 for 1.5 piece of bacon. We tied to order a couple of the items on the menu and they were completely out of them. Even the Rose was not ready to serve. You might ask did we show the up late in the day? Nope this was at 12:30. I would eat there again, but not my first place to think about.

You know the problem when a restaurant prices their food to high is that the customer anticipates the food to be as good as what they are paying for. We went for lunch, maybe dinner is better, and I ordered the special beef cheeseburger with cheddar and special bacon with a fancy in house aioli sauce on a house made bun and a side salad. The beef was great. The bun was good and it was grilled perfectly. The side salad, especially for a restaurant that boasts growing their own vegetables in the garden in the back, was pretty pathetic. I got a side of lettuce basically that I covered with a vinaigrette sauce they make. The dressing was basically the only thing that made the salad edible. My wife got tacos that the waiter boasted would be amazing. She said the taste was good but again we overpaid for the tacos as there was only about a table spoon of filling in each tortilla so we ended up having to go find more to eat after we left this restaurant. So, to sum up, they could be good if they paid more attention to detail and offered a better value for their customers.

Sadly after visiting this establishment tonight, I’m ordering dinner after arriving home from what was suppose to be my spouse’s and I’s valentines/anniversary dinner. We were seated quickly since we had a reservation but from that point on, our experience was hit and miss. The first round of bread we ordered was warm and appetizing which prompted us to order another. It was so good! Come to find out the second round was served to us cold and with a smaller serving of the butter spread, so we couldn’t finish 2/6 pieces of bread we paid $3 again for. Why couldn’t you ask for more butter you may ask. Our server barely touched our table and was not at all attentive, reasons being that I didn’t even touch my entree (picture #1, chicken blanquette). It was so underwhelming and since I didn’t like it, I think it’s fair to pay for it, BUT the waitress didn’t even ask why I didn’t even take more than one bite into my chicken. The rice was overcooked (aka mushy and chewy) and the side was so under seasoned, just like the chicken-which I did try to fix with salt I asked for but unfortunately, there was no salvaging the chicken. My spouse’s meal: the duck was good, tender and skin crispy, but the carrot was undercooked and he didn’t finish his meal either. So in addition to being inattentive, our waitress wasn’t concerned with the experience I had at Oak Hill Cafe (picture #2). We were very excited to visit for dinner, but we walked away disappointed. But in all honesty, their recent feature in a food magazine is the reason why we visited for dinner, but also the reason they might not be concerned. If you made it to the end, thanks for reading! You won’t be spending over $100 and regretting it like us if you take this into consideration.
