Living in Gville for 38 years, Stax has always been my go to for a good home cooking led bfast, tasty lunches with a nice relaxed atmosphere.

The food and service are always good here, whether busy or not. The only thing I can complain about is that they are not super close to me. They are totally worth the drive though.

Great local restaurant that's an icon in Greenville history. We visited on a rainy weekday morning and the place was still busy with mostly regulars. Everyone knew the staff and had pleasant conversations with them as they passed by serving each of the customers. The food was very good as expected, along with reasonable prices. These kind of places are getting harder to find these days due to over saturation of chain restaurants offering mediocre food with no soul. We hope Stax's continues on for years to come because we will come back to enjoy a locally owned business that cares about their customers.

Food was cheap and the waitress was grumpy. Not many restaurants where you can get a plate for 12 dollars though

I clearly did not like my meal, ate less than half,placed my fork on the plate, pushed the plate to the edge of the table. Naan one manager or server stopped to ask if everything was ok or if I wanted something else
Just dropped the check off and kept moving
Then we go to pay and told the cashier she stated nobody else complained about the tomatoes
Do you want something else?
I stated the point was to be offered DURING the meal
She stated well you can have something else
I declined and payed for a meal I didn’t like/eat

Went in for the 1st time and ordered 2 burgers, but felt like I was being looked at funny the whole time I was there like I was not even supposed to be in the restaurant, I felt racism all around, and it felt like the lady that took my order didn't want to take it in the first place

I love this restaurant. I live in the neighborhood and eat here almost every weekend. Service is always excellent. They’re always packed but we never have to wait long because they have efficient house management and turn the tables over quickly. The food is always great. We come for breakfast and my eggs are always cooked perfectly. I usually get the fluffy and delicious waffles, but the biscuits and gravy are good too. Love the potatoes. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Greenville and I can’t say enough good things about it
