Absolutely wonderful. Easy to make reservations in a very high quality restaurant. Service was top notch and food was outstanding. We will come back.
Soby's is one of the few restaurants in Greenville that is consistently very good. I took my granddaughter for Sunday brunch before seeing the Nutcracker. An added surprise Santa was there! Santa walked around and visited the various tables, and you could also have your picture taken with him Our meal was delicious I appreciate that the kids menu has more than the usual kids fare. They offer Steak and two sides which was wonderful. Plus three other options I had the Eggs Benedict which was fantastic! Our server was most attentive, very knowledgeable about all the menu items. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas too.
So happy that Soby's is open for Sunday lunch and it was beautifully decorated for Christmas today with even a Santa Claus for a memory photo with us! Chuck took great care of us and we enjoyed the delightful brussel sprouts and ham, beet and goat cheese salad, fried chicken, country fried steak and toffee pudding! Always a treat with presentation and taste in a beautiful setting!
It was excellent highly recommend it. Enjoyed the ambience, service and food. I would highly recommend this one to our friends.
Was disappointed by my latest visit....Ordered Fall Squash frittata which I have enjoyed before... Felt cold and did not smell/taste fresh, and seemed like it was re-heated and the top crust was overdone. It was also extremely heavily salted. So after eating part of it, I requested the waiter to see if they could make it again since it didn't taste good and did not seem freshly cooked (which is important in a dish made with eggs).....He took it back to the kitchen, but returned with the same plate saying that they couldn't do anything because they make a whole frittata in the morning, and just re-heat slices throughout the day. I wish they had offered to replace it, or offer something else to make up for it...Although he offered me the menu again, there was nothing vegetarian except for salads...Since the salad that came with the original dish was not great either, ordering another salad on a cold day was not appealing... I wish they would offer other healthy and tasty options for those who prefer vegetarian dishes to pork/heavy fried foods which are the mainstay... Waiter did not seem very experienced either and had not checked in early enough, or requested a manager to help out. I was surprised because they were not very busy and usually Table 301 staff is very responsive.
Dinner was very good. My friend and I had the crab cake and the short rib. Both were very filling and tasted very good. Nothing that wowed. Drinks were lovely. The mezcal cocktail I had was a well-balanced drink. Our server didn't really check on us much. Sitting upstairs is rather cold, bring a jacket for sure.
My husband and I visited Soby's for the first time to celebrate my birthday, as I had been curious about the restaurant for quite some time. The atmosphere and ambience were very nice—warm, romantic, and perfect for a special evening out. The staff were friendly, and our waiter was pleasant; however, the service lacked attentiveness. We often had to remind him about items we had already requested, and some things never arrived at all. For example, our first appetizer—roasted brussels sprouts—was brought out completely burnt. My husband sent it back, and to their credit, the kitchen prepared and returned a properly cooked dish very quickly. The food overall was excellent. We truly enjoyed our main dishes, and the mango cheesecake dessert was absolutely delicious—truly a standout. The smaller service details, however, took away from the overall experience. Bread was not brought out initially, and when it did arrive, it was very dry. We had to request butter separately, and after a long wait, it finally came. We also never received salt and pepper, despite asking. These may be small things, but together they made the experience feel less polished than expected. Overall, we had a lovely evening—largely because we enjoyed each other's company and the atmosphere. While we appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food, the lack of attentiveness makes me less inclined to return. Greenville has many wonderful restaurants, and I look forward to exploring more of them. This is not a negative review—just an honest one. Soby's had its highlights, and we are grateful for the things they did well.
Our favorite over and over again. I'm not a salad guy but the beet and goat cheese salad was freaking amazing. Shrimp and grits never fail as the best I've ever had but the portion is too small for the price. Great service and can't beat the ambiance.
As a local Greenville native, there are a few restaurants that truly have stood the test of time as we have grown and changed. Soby's is one of those. The food and staff are always amazing, and it feels like a home away from home. Thank you for not only being the most consistant place to eat but one of the best. Cheerrs
We were here for Saturday brunch. Excellent food, excellent service. It feels special without being stuffy. It's been in business a long time for a reason.

Can't speak highly enough about the Loft as a venue and also about the staff there. It was such a beautiful place to celebrate our wedding. The food was amazing! The staff was very accommodating and made everything so easy. 10/10.
Great restaurant, lovely building, delicious food! We had the brussel sprouts, fried chicken and braised short ribs, loved them. The only glitch was broccolini that was too salty for my taste. They very generously offered to replace it with a different vegetable but I was full and declined their offer! We saved room for dessert - white chocolate banana cream pie! YUM!
Love this place, service was great. Drinks were fantastic and their bourbon glasses with “large cube” ice are nice. Waiter was knowledgeable and happy to have us there. Split the bill for us with no issues. Probably our favorite place downtown Greenville
We ordered the fried green tomato Benedict along with a asparagus salad to share. The portions were just right for two people. And we enjoyed the Sobeys bloody Mary 301. Our server was excellent, and aside from the difficulty in parking downtown, we will be going more often
Stefan was an exceptional server and made our anniversary special! He made our experience everything and worth it! I would go to any restaurant he works at My meal came out warm but not hot enough- like it had been sitting The sommelier took our wine away after opening it to decant it and brought it back in a water carafe. Then when we offered him a glass he said he already poured himself some and had some. That was super weird. There were several things that would have made my rating much lower but Stefan made our evening wonderful. He covered the deficiencies of the others beautifully
