Had a party here this last weekend. Whitney was amazing to work with and made the whole process easy. The event space is amazing. They truly have an affordable and unique space. The whole venue blew away all the guests local and those that did not live here. Food was amazing. We had the buffet and the food was fresh, nothing was dry and the food was a highlight of the party as well. I would highly recommend this place for a party.
Flavorful salads, and she crab soup. Soup was lukewarm and my blackened chicken and my husband's grilled chicken breasts were tender and juicy although not quite done near the bone attached to the wing joint. Still good until we noticed it. Server was adequate. Desserts were just ok. Coffee ice cream was outstanding! We had the first seating at 4:30.
Sunday Brunch certainly subject to Shrinkage with small portions and upcharges. For example, waitress suggested xtra gravy was needed for Biscuits & Gravy, which was a $5 upcharge on $14 Biscuits & Gravy. Salads were side salad portions. Seemed very expensive for simple food. Limited options for Gluten Free.
We booked our reservation at Soby's weeks in advance for our anniversary night. We sat outside on the patio because the weather was exceptional. We had been to Soby's many times in the past and had always been impressed by both the food and the service. Once again, the food did not disappoint, but this visit, the service did. Our server, Abby, was not very attentive, even though our reservation was at 8:30, when there were not many remaining guests. She left us alone with the bottle of wine, after having me taste it and pouring the first glass for each of us. After that, we served ourselves our wine, even after she brought the chiller container. To make matters worse, when we were given our bill, she had charged us for the bottle of white Bordeaux that we originally ordered, but that they didn't have in stock. We will dine at Soby's again, but hope that our dining experience will be much improved from tonight.
This place is way over-hyped. The food was very average. Tartar wasn't flavorful and over-seasoned. Fried chicken (breast only) was dry and under seasoned. My friend didn't care much for his crab cakes. For being such a well-touted restaurant, it was disappointing.
Absolutely stunning interior, amazing staff, to die for food, and overall best experience in Greenville to date. We got the Bacon Brussels as an app, Porkchop, and the Halibut as entrees, and finished off with HibisKiss'n'tell and a High Road. Food was high quality and cooked perfectly, Zachery, our waiter, was amazing, intuitive and entertaining, and this will be a stable for me and mine. We sat right above the kitchen. Watching the food, and getting the aroma of all the meals was a mouth watering start to our evening; we received the drink and food menus, which both had amazing tactile feels to them being leather and copper. We were served with speed and efficiency, food came out with amazing brevity and flavor. Overall a must visit location for Greenville. Any expense accrued for your day/evening visit is well worth it, you will not be dissatisfied.
The Brussel sprouts with ham and goat cheese appetizer was truly outstanding. Fried chicken breast was crunchy, light and chicken breast was very moist and tender and great flavor. Shrimp and grits was excellent and the mac and cheese was very good with ham in it. Wonderful meal!
We had a 6pm reservation and were promptly seated. The restaurant was packed and lively (loud)! Don't come here for a romantic date or to have a business conversation - but do if you want a happening place. We love wine, and were disappointed as we perused the large wine list book Apparently the sommelier isn't aware that there are plenty of delicious wines, both red and white, for under $100. Yes there were a few, but the majority of bottles on this list were $80 and much higher. Wines by the glass - the pinot noir offering was $25. I had a Sancerre for $18. Both were delicious, Unfortunately. while ordered first, the wine was served after our appetizers were delivered. No sipping wine and chatting while waiting for our food to arrive. The menu has plenty of tempting plates. Nduja pate was one of the appetizers. Since we love pate, we decided to try it. Would have been nice to have some sort of description on the menu to know what we were ordering - yes it described the accompanying items, like bleu and mushrooms, but not everyone knows what Nduja pate is. Good thing we like spicy, because it had a bit of a kick, but we did enjoy it. As we ate, we wished we had another slice of toasted bread or crackers to have with it, but our bustling server didn't circle back to check with us. Oh well. When the waiter arrived to take our plates away, I ordered a second glass of the yummy Sancerre, and specifically asked that it be delivered before our entrees. It was. But do we really need to be so directive? We ordered the seared halibut, and it was excellent! Overall, the service was ok, the wine selection pricing had a too-steep lower end, the food was excellent and the atmosphere bustling, not elegant. We felt more than a little rushed, with a 6pm arrival and a departure just after 7. We will probably try again, because we're foodies and the food was outstanding. Perhaps we'll be more aggressive with questions and more directive about timing.
Sobys is one of the best restaurants in the South. It has been consistent since day one!! The quality, portion and taste of their food is always excellent!! They were one of the first fine dining restaurants in our beautiful city!!
Loved our brunch today! Our waiter Derrick was exceptional. Foid and beverage were delicious. Save room for dessert. We may start with cheesecake and banana white chocolate pie the next time.

When you have a waiter who has been at a restaurant for 10 years, that tells you volumes about management, food and support for staff. 301 restaurants never disappoint and I am always glad I've brought out of town guests to Sobys
Made reservations weeks in advance at 5pm when it opened to be on time for my 6:30 show, Arrived on time down stairs was completely empty but was seated upstairs. A little hard for elderly couple with no elevators. Was in and out in less than 40 minutes and tables were still empty downstairs. Not the experience I was looking for. Maybe they can add upstairs and downstairs in the reservation request
We had been wanting to try Soby's per a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. This place is outstanding in all areas Our server Keri is a sommelier and she was so helpful in ordering all of our items including wine. I would highly recommend Soby's and we will definitely be going back! This is our new favorite restaurant!
I was excited to go to Soby's having heard many good things. It was my husband's birthday. They called in advance of the reservation to confirm and checked the spelling of his name. I thought they would do something special. Instead, they did nothing. The waitress didn't even wish him a happy birthday. Every other bar we went to before and after offered him a desert of free drink. The food was blood to average. Overall, a big disappointment.
Had an awesome experience at Soby's tonight. Our server, Santiago, was knowledgeable about all food and beverage and made some excellent recommendations. Will definitely visit on our next visit to Greenville.
