UP on the Roof Reviews
Had a great time. Connor was great and kept checking in on us!
We had a great experience having dinner and drinks this past week at UP. We met Duke, the manager, as he was jamming some KC and the Sunshine band vibes and got into a great conversation with him about the bar and how Greenville has thrived in recent years. Our server Mollie, was fantastic and provided us with great service and delicious food recommendations. The Carolina Trout is a must as it melted in my mouth. Our drinks were nice and we finished off the night with a tasty...read full review
We had reservations for Christmas Eve. When we arrived we were practically told we might as well go home because they had no idea how long or if we would get a table.
I know it was Christmas. That’s why I made the reservation a month ahead of time. They were under staffed.
Poor management for sure.

UP on the Roof is a restaurant that offers a beautiful view of the downtown area and the river. The menu features a variety of dishes, including the "Don't be a jerk chicken" and a well-seasoned seafood selection. The calamari, cheeseboard, and fruits are also praised as fresh and delicious, and everybody commented on how good the food was, especially the crab cakes. The outdoor rooftop bar provides plenty of shaded seating and fans to keep guests comfortable in the heat, making it a popular spot for enjoying drinks outdoors with a view. The bartender uses lots of fresh ingredients for specialty cocktails like the “dad joke” and “heat of the moment,” which are both very tasty. The atmosphere is laid back, and it’s a great place to come for good views and drinks, providing the perfect setting to showcase beautiful downtown Greenville. Many visitors have celebrated special events here, enjoying the great view and good food and a magical experience. The staff is friendly and attentive and provides extraordinary service. However, the food quality and portions may not always match the prices, and service can sometimes be slow. Some guests have noted limited draft beer options and occasional issues with seating and table arrangements, especially in the bar area. The restaurant does not have its own elevator, which can make entering and leaving a bit awkward, especially when passing through the hotel lobby, but an elevator button is available to the roof top. Despite these points, UP on the Roof remains a cool place to visit in Greenville, a true picturesque vision, with many people planning to return for the views and drinks and a good brunch.
