I came to Abbott’s with high expectations, excited to try what I assumed would be freshly made frozen custard. Unfortunately, I was let down after speaking with an employee who told me that most of the flavors are made by simply adding syrups or flavorings to a base mix not made fresh on site. While the texture was fine, the taste felt artificial, and the overall experience didn’t live up to the hype.
Also, I’m genuinely confused how this place has such a high rating for what is essentially very basic custard. If you’re expecting handcrafted, freshly made custard, this probably isn’t the spot for you.

Made me the worst vanilla milkshake I've ever had (I didn't order vanilla) - just loose chunks of ice cream and milk. It was so bad I wasn't sure if the kid that made it actually worked there, but I confirmed he was indeed an employee. I regret paying for the extra flavor that I didn't get and tipping in advance on the card 🤦♂️. That was $9 down the drain. You have been warned.

Ice cream was great but when it came to paying they wouldn’t take our gift card which we had just been given to us and never had been used. Additionally, when paying there was no option on the pin pad to use our gift card and the cashier did not seem knowledgeable on how to pin it in either.

Are gluten free vegan pineapple dole. It was delicious and creamy. Excellent customer service.
Very regular tasting ice cream. We bought a pint of strawberry and there were no chunks and barely tasted like strawberry.

Abbott's originated in my hometown of Rochester, NY. When I moved to Spartanburg, SC, over 2 years ago, I was thrilled to see that there was an Abbott's just a few miles away in Greer. I brought my girlfriend to experience the best custard on the planet 😋

Love that they always offer new flavors so often. Though I do really enjoy the chocolate almond when they have it. The staff here are very kind and patient with us when asking about all the flavors.
Vegetarian options: They offer fruit dole options.
Dietary restrictions: They have multiple diary free options for dole or sorbes
