Took our daughter's family for dinner which is first time we took young ones here. I do not recommend as they have no kids menu and the options are severely limited. We opted for the chicken and waffles, but the boys did not like the chicken much as it was spicier than they like. Plenty of portions but they did not eat much. My prime rib was a bit overcooked and not a middle cut, a lot of waste on the cut. Everything else was really good, drinks, appetizers (oysters), and other dishes. For family meal, this is not a good option and very expensive. We do love coming here with adult couples.

Some of the food was great and some was just mediocre. The steak and short rib were dry and tough but the tuna was nicely cooked and was fresh. It was extremely loud in the restaurant and the server was very hard to understand. Not the best experience I've had.

We had dinner there on Valentines Day. The staff and owner were very accommodating. We ran into some old friends and the server arranged for us to sit together. The food is excellent with a great choice of a variety of Lowcountry dishes. I no longer live in the Lowcountry but when we return to visit Hogshead will be on my list of restaurants to recommend and revisit.
Among the best meals I have had in Bluffton/HHI, and the service was spot on. Even when short handed the service level never suffered. This team is dedicated to a superior dining experience.

I am visiting the area and ordered my meal to go. I tried the Truffled Honey Salmon and I have to say it was beyond amazing - even as take out! Flavorful, perfectly cooked and seasoned, I wasn't sure about the honey and cranberry sauces but so glad I gave it all a try! The service, both over the phone and in person when I arrived was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend and will definitely be back as I'll be in town more often!

Hogshead is one of our favorites, consistently good food and service. Ahi tuna was cooked perfectly, chicken parm was unique and delish. The four of us shared the chips with melted gorgonzola. Highly recommended

We normally have a great meal here. But service was “off” and food was not as good as it typically has been. Fried green tomatoes were mushy - fried part was soggy. Waitress didn't seem to care when we told her. Never offered to replace or remove from our bill. Food is too expensive for that kind of service
Try the new truffles/mushroom/cream sauce scallop appetizer! It's the best in Bluffton. Also, Hogshead version of a Caesar Salad is very different, but delightful! My husband had the beefburger and he could not finish the huge plate... quality beef coooked perfectly and loaded with onion fried.....Hmmmmmm! Hogshead is our go-to never-fails local eatery.....And Amanda's smile just tops it all off.....Do I wish the owners would refresh the interior with a new coat of paint and lighten the restaurant up a bit? Yes, I do, but Hogshead is still a top choice for us for a casual dinner out with good food and good service....

This was my second time dining here, and it was as good or better than last time. We had made a reservation to be safe since it's on the smaller side. We were seated immediately and spent a few minutes going over the menu. There were several dinner specials, one of which was had by someone in my group. While there was a slight delay getting our drink order taken, overall we had pleasant service. They even give you complimentary bread with a delicious dipping oil, something that's missing from a lot of other places. Two of us had the salmon entree, which was absolutely delicious. Every bite with the flavorful side dishes was a culinary delight. Their portions are normally generous, and none of us had room for dessert. As we were leaving, the co-owner engaged us in a pleasant conversation about the local, stray kitties that they help to support. We will definitely be back!

Consistently great dining experiences here for me. I had the best entree salad here recently - Jerk Chicken Cobb salad. It was huge, delicious, and very satisfying. Husband had Chicken Parm special and loved it. Servers were great. Knowledgeable about menu and specials. Never a half full water glass on the table.

We were immediately greeted by Christian, who was also our server. We did not have reservations, but they were able to accommodate us. Since we had never been there, we took some time to figure out our drinks and settled on three appetizers. We got the escargot which I had never had before, anywhere, but man, I could've eaten three orders myself it was outstanding. My mother who hates ahi tuna, was diving in to our order. And the bruschetta was more like a flatbread, but the flavors were out of this world. My mother and Uncle both got the prime rib special. They said it was cooked perfectly seasoned amazing and the mashed potatoes were some of the best they've had. I got the pasta with mushrooms and added the chicken wrapped in prosciutto. The pasta was cooked perfectly. Everything was seasoned well and the leftovers we're just as amazing. We had zero room for dessert but we were talked into getting the pecan pie that we split. I'm so glad we listen to our server and got it. It was outstanding as well. I suggest making reservations as the place is not very large. However, they have super cute mason, jar, lights, hanging from the ceiling that just felt very welcoming. Everyone was super friendly and people kept stopping by to see how we were doing. The service was top notch and Christian comes highly recommended. We would ask for him again especially because he's a Patriots fan. The restaurant is in a strip mall, and very unassuming from the outside. I am so glad we went. This is now on our favorites list.
