We enjoyed this restaurant because of the food, beer and atmosphere. In fact, we came back three nights in a row. We were super happy with Barb our waitress on two different nights and Rose for the third night. Barb and Rose made us feel welcome and comfortable.

Riley was unfriendly and unprofessional. We had a large party some being children and for some never asked how they wanted the steak cooked. Brought out a filet very rare which turned the child’s stomach and just didn’t want steak any longer. Never offered to adjust the bill and never apologized for the inconvenience.

Then when the table asked for more bread her response was the bread is for the whole restaurant will have to see if they have more. We were there at 4:30 so if you are running low on bread at the start of your dinner rush that is a restaurant issue not a customer issue.

Could not even get water refills or ice. Just a bad service experience all around with this waitress.

Was excellent! Sat outside on the porch and got amazing service. We enjoyed it last year so we had to come back for more!!!

We like to visit Poseidon at least once a trip but most years we hit it up a couple of times. We tend to have their sushi rolls and bowls and the kids have their beef burger and corn dog or chicken fingers. The food is always good and the servers are attentive. We typically go for lunch and sit outside which gets pretty busy which is a good sign they are doing something right.

Came back two days later and had another great lunch. The shrimp tacos and Island roll were amazing. Miles was an excellent server. Appreciate the attentiveness and he did a great job with the kids.

Well I tell you what, Poseidon treated us right and then some! This was one of my more favorite meals of the whole Hilton Head trip and that is saying something because we ate well all week long. I got the broiled seafood platter and bless its heart everything on that plate was fresh and cooked just right, the way good Southern coastal cooking ought to be.

The atmosphere was lovely and had that warm comfortable feeling you look for when you sit down for a proper meal. Now it was a busy night, the kind where you wonder if things might fall apart, but the service held up just fine and kept things moving along nicely. Down here folks know how to take care of their guests even when the house is full.

If you find yourself in Hilton Head and you are looking for a good honest seafood meal with a welcoming atmosphere, Poseidon is absolutely worth your time. We will surely be back on the next trip down!

We had 7pm dinner reservations on a Wednesday night. I expected that to be necessary but it wasn’t, at all. The hostess was nice enough, we were seated early with no issue. We ordered drinks and an appetizer (fried green tomatoes, so good!!). No issues there. Then we ordered a seafood combo to split. Our dish came out and it took several minutes before our server finally came back around to check on us. We were never offered an extra plate. The food was so-so. Then we ordered crème brûlée to go. Which was pathetic. It was in a 1/2 pint plastic to go container and looked disgusting. I understand ordering a dessert to go may not have the same presentation as it would in the restaurant but this just looked like some pudding dishes into the bowl with some brown goop on top… no brûléed sugar at all. Anyway, it was not the best dinner yet we still spent close to $100.

We were floored about how unsatisfactory the entire experience was after being highly recommended by two families today. Slow service, error in drink order, slow service, LOUD, wilted field green salad, LOUD, empty water glasses, and slow service. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Why was the place packed??

Server was nice! The snow crab was AMAZING and the atmosphere was nice. It was a little loud, but still pretty easy to talk. :)

Food was good. Sushi didn’t taste super fresh. Fried oysters entree was good but they weren’t enough oysters to fill you up.
