As has been the case each and every time we have enjoyed meals at Coastal Provisions it was a wonderful experience. Our server was attentive but not hovering...our seats by the window nice...the food presentation and taste was delicious.

We had the BEST experience at Coastal Provisions. Our server Chris went above and beyond and totally made my daughter's birthday memorable. Thank you!!

For an upscale restaurant this place needs needs a major menu overhaul. They should call the restaurant coastal small bites. Charge for bread basket when it should be complimentary. The entree sizes are appetizer portions!! I had scallops-4 scallops with a tiny tiny bit of seaweed salad was like nothing! Most dishes would be served over a potato, grits, polenta or have a decent vegetable. Another guest had ravioli-4 small ravioli the size my toddler could eat. The last guest had a salad with grilled chicken. Maybe there was 4 ounces of chicken on top the salad. When asked for additional chicken, the waitress said that is a “standard portion” and a further upcharge would be made for more. Save your hard earned money enjoy a meal somewhere else!!

Our server was great. The food was OK, but pricey for what was received. The appetizer was overcooked, we brought it to our servers attention. Our steak was ordered medium, and cooked to medium well. Did not complain because we already told them about one thing. The flavor and tenderness of the steak were great.

Got in nearby from a long day of traveling so we were starving for yummy food! Coastal Provisions did not disappoint. We started with shrimp hush puppies, delicious flavor and the sauce drizzled on top was a creamy white cheesy sauce along with a spicy red sauce mixed with onions. Delish. Only problem, there weee only three! Hubby got the pork chop and I the gumbo. I gave a bite to the hubby and he so wishes he got the gumbo too. The house made sausage was delicious and the pan seared chicken wing was a surprise and seasoned beautifully, it worked well with the flavors of the gumbo rice. I would totally come back in a heartbeat to order gumbo again! Don't forget the key line and beignets. Everything was fantastic! Totally recommend!!!!

We were overall a little disappointed with our experience at Coastal Provisions. We didn't seem to have a server assigned to us, so it was almost 30 minutes before we ordered drinks. The food was very expensive with tiny portions— I paid $49 for Catch of the Day for a slab of halibut with no sides. Nice ambience but poor value and we did not have a good service experience.

The food was good but not outstanding and very pricey. Our server Madison was excellent overall. She asked how I liked the pork chop cooked and I said pink in the middle/medium and it arrived well done and dry in most parts. It was edible but not how I like it. The white sauce with it was bland and tasteless while the greens were too spicy. The polenta was cooked just right. Our other dishes were much better.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner with delicious food, attentive waitstaff, and a spacious dining room. We had the filet, halibut special, risotto, bread, and cheesecake. All were cooked to perfection and flavorful. A welcome respite from the hustle and cramped nature of downtown Charleston establishments.

Opentable Diner
