Not worth the money! Just stayed a long weekend at the Wild Dunes and was given a room in B building. I ended up paying with taxes and fees roughly $500/night...in the off season. My room was a great view of dug up dirt lot at a beach resort. And the hotel was far from being full. The room was very dated. I couldn't find staff members at the beach to get chairs and umbrella. Not the same resort I stayed at years ago.
Excellent hotel rooms. However, the workout facility needs a big upgrade. Please use the Ponte Vedra Beach Club as a reference. A separate Adult pool area would also be a nice addition. The valet staff are top notch. The shuttle system works very well.
Beautiful place to grab a drink or a snack. However, the bartender was extremely rude (dark curly hair, bold lipstick, won’t take off sunglasses). Venue is a 10/10 but unkind bartender is a -1/10.

Well, this was our second time staying at the Sweetgrass Inn (our first being last summer around the same time.) Our first experience was nice enough, and therefore we decided to come back again…wow what a difference. First off, this is a pricey place. The room rates are outrageous for what you get, and it seems to vary in that regard. Our room this year was old, dirty, and had the most ridiculous layout you could imagine. It was so sandy that our son slipped and fell upon the first few minutes in the room and busted his lips open. At least give us a damn swiffer! Room was never fully cleaning in the entire time we were there (4 nights). The kitchenette area is a joke. The stove hood is so low you will most certainly hit your head on it and it sticks out so far you have to crouch down to use the burners. The burners that work anyway, most of them did not in our room. I assume this is all done so you will HAVE to order food and spend thousands on meals while you are there, or the person who designed the rooms is an idiot. I had to beg a cleaning lady for trash bags at one point. Check in is LATE (4pm) and no, you cannot get into your room early. So those of us with cranky kids will have to wander aimlessly around the grounds until we can get in. The restaurants will not pick up the phone and the resort is run by teenagers who, when asked a question will say “oh, ask the front desk.” Some redeeming aspects: the beach is lovely, the spa is also very nice and you will need a massage after staying here for a few nights. The pools are ok but lots of kids and most of them are aged 5+ or much older. Bring everything with you, and you will need every bit of it. Getting your car from the valet takes a lot of time, so leaving the resort is hard. We will not be coming back and this was extremely disappointing.
We have stayed here twice and both times have been wonderful. The stays were a year apart. Staff is kind and helpful. Rooms and common areas very clean and the hotel smells very nice. The area is walkable with several restaurants, quaint but nice spa, a good gym by hotel standards (we travel a lot and many hotels have bad gyms with simple cardio equipment, broken machines and dumbbells - but there is more equipment here than you usually find at hotels and all was in working order on both visits). The kids love it here with the pools, splash pad, big fire pits and easy beach access. Highly recommend staying IN the actual Sweetgrass Inn. They can rent you a bungalow through one of the Wild Dunes property owners on site. We tried that once and, despite the kitchen, washer and dryer and added bedrooms, we did not find it nearly as nice as the actual hotel. It was very outdated and dark. We decided the Sweetgrass Inn hotel rooms are a much more relaxing experience.
Gorgeous resort! Our suite was huge with beautiful views all around, including a spectacular sunset. Very clean and well appointed. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to come back.
Very nice venue. Hotel is lovely with great rooms, super pools, accessible to the beach and a very nice spa. One HUGE problem. No room cleanup until the third day. Our room was almost $500 per night, and the hotel was not very busy. We had to text for clean towels, additional toilet paper and coffee refills . I find this unacceptable, and am aware of staff shortages, yet cleaning carts were in our hallway everyday. At this price point, Hyatt needs to find a way to resolve this. On another note, watch the guy in the Taco truck. Very good at not giving you the proper change. Slight of hand for sure.
We just stayed here for a couple of nights and had a really nice visit! I love how new and clean and spacious our room was. The decor is lovely and our room and bed were so comfortable! This is a true resort with multiple shops, food, bars, etc....and pools. The walk to the beach is a little further than I had expected, but there is a really nice walkway directly to the beach. Be prepared that on the Saturday we were there, the pool was VERY crowded (because of this, the pool looked really dirty to me).....on Sunday, it was better. The big negative for us was the parking situation. It is valet parking and at arrival for us, the wait was super long!!! The guys were working very hard, but they certainly need a better system for arrivals and departures. Be prepared to wait a long time when you arrive and when you leave. I am sure this will depend on many factors, but for us the waits were long and frustrating. It is almost as if the driveway, holding area, etc....was really poorly designed to accommodate many cars/arrivals and departures at one time. Truly that is my only negative to report.....we will certainly return and really enjoyed our time at the Sweetgrass Inn!
Very over priced…nice view of street and parking…made reservations months ago and did not get room that was not only reserved but paid for…did not even get any type of apology but girl at front desk did say it was not her fault…
Sweetgrass has the most lovely staff. In particular, Walt at the front desk was wonderful. I had a stressful day before arrival and came to check-in our group of 8 adults plus 3 babies, so I came in flustered, stressed, and dreading a long line at check-in. Despite a bustling lobby at peak check-in time on a Sunday, I didn’t wait! Sweetgrass has a seamless check-in and you feel like you’re in vacation mode the second you walk into the lobby. Walt was accommodating, helpful, and professional. He didn’t stop smiling the whole time he helped me. When I told him I wanted to surprise my mom with her own last minute room, he helped make it happen. The way I was helped and assisted is what hospitality is all about! It can be hard to find today, but Sweetgrass has it. I was able to finally relax and start my vacation on a great note thanks to Walt! The Sweetgrass resort is generally fabulous. It has everything you need steps from your house or room. A fabulous location for a family vacation or meet up with friends. So safe, so clean, so accommodating for any needs!

Just spent 5 incredible days at the Seagrass Inn. We had been to Wild Dunes a number of times previously, but our 1st at this newer hotel. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are very well appointed, comfortable and spacious. The hotel lobby is 1st class in every respect. The pools and deck areas are incredible - great for families and couples alike. Access to the beach is quick and easy. The hotel staff were all very helpful and curteous. Honestly, we didn’t eat much at the hotel as we went out to local restaurants on Sullivans Island and into Charleston itself. Couldn’t have asked for anything more from a family 4th of July vacation spot. Will come back - hopefully soon!
While the hotel is beautiful, the staff are polite…but incompetent. I needed to ship a box home in the middle of a two week business trip. I was told they could ship it for me if I had a box and brought it to the front desk (shipping charges would appear on my bill). I took a box to the front desk, gave them the address and thought nothing more…until now 3 weeks post visit…no box. I called the hotel front desk (almost impossible to get a live person) and asked them to find/track it. The lost & found guy calls to say no one has seen it and he would ask around. Two days later I had to call in follow up where the child at the front desk relayed that the lost & found guy is “keeping an eye out for it.” Seriously?! I just lost a box with clothing, jewelry and a c-pap and there’s no intellectual integrity or decent customer service.
