Horrible experience today at Periwinkle kitchen .
Walked in to grab food quickly and instantly the woman taking orders did everything but help us. She finally came over and took our order, she was very rude and out of it.
After the order was taken I asked how long she said quick and I preceded to say never mind as we didn’t have much time. She said okay I need to help others (one person was on there) she preceded to walk away and avoided helping us … I went to go on my credit card and found that our two drinks and a chicken salad crossisant was charged $257 .
I walked over to her to ask her to please refund this immediately and she laughed at me told me to calm down . Then I asked if she didn’t wish to help us can we please speak to a manager or anyone else she pointed out the owner was right there I looked at him and he wouldn’t look at me or speak to me.
I showed him my phone of the charge his response was “ can’t see your phone” - to which I handed him my phone.
She claims she refunded it and I just spent now time on phone with my bank.
What an absolute shame and shock that a local place and OWNER would act this way.

GO SEE LILY!
We walked in at about 9:50 and she told us to sit wherever we’d like and then gave us a few minutes to look over the menus. We asked if the banana pudding latte was yummy and she went into detail about how she gets hers and how good it is. So obviously my friend got that one while my other friend and I got a dirty chai latte and a crème brûlée latte. Then came time for food. Lily was very accommodating when I told her I had a shellfish allergy. I originally wanted to order the Chicken and pimento sandwich (i’m a sucker for hot honey) but just incase their fryers were used for any shellfish products she asked if I had a second option while she checked with the kitchen. She apologized for the inconvenience and assured me the avocado toast would be just as good. AND GOOD LORD SHE WAS RIGHT!!! Lily mentioned a daily special of tiramisu crepes and we immediately knew we’d be sharing that. With the crepes, all three of us got the avocado toast but one of my friends got their “avo-cobb toast” which was as you can assume has elements of a cobb salad on avocado toast.
Now I feel the need to write an entirely separate portion of this review specifically for the avocado toast I got. I need every other restaurant with avocado toast on their menus to go ahead and take them off because I’m not being dramatic when I say…you’ll never be able to compete. Let’s start with the bread. Sourdough that was toasted to absolute perfection. And if you’re an avocado toast connoisseur like I am you know that some/most places are making their toast so crispy and crunchy that it cuts up your mouth, or the bread is too soggy that the whole thing just falls apart. Not Periwinkle kitchen. It was perfectly crunchy and the avocado was light, fluffy, with a hint of acidity from the tomatoes (I assume they were roasted because good lord they were so yummy). Sprinkled on top was feta cheese which is my favorite! It was perfectly simple and the flavors blended together nicely. Needless to say we CLEARED every plate on our table.
When it came time for the bill Lily checked us out and sent us on our way. I asked her for a to go cup for the rest of my latte (it was maybe four sips) and she offered to heat it back up for me. NOW THATS SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE!
We found our new breakfast joint! Thank you so much Lily and periwinkle crew!

This is a cozy restaurant just off the Betsy Kerrison Parkway where the food is as generous as it is good. Great breakfast options. Super friendly service. Relaxed atmosphere. Reasonably priced.

Shrimp and grits, awesome. Fried pork chop on a biscuit with peach compote, really good. Everything coming out of the kitchen looks great. Will be back.

Delicious! Chicken and waffles are amazing and the desserts are great too. Nice vibe and everyone is friendly. Prices aren't crazy compared to any of places if you are staying on the resort.

Super cute restaurant, service was wonderful. My parents live on Kiawah and have eaten here many times, my son and I treated them again for my Mom's 81st birthday. She chose this restaurant as one of her favorite places. We will return, we all ordered something different. There are ready-made meals to purchase up front and a great menu with daily specials.

A very quaint location off of a busy road. Great staff and location. If I lived locally, I'd visit regularly.
