Met some friends for some grub and drinks. Was pleasantly surprised by the food. As ya'll know, my betrothed and I prefer the authentic taquerias. This is not that, not supposed to be. Do they have some dishes that give off that taqueria vibe? A few. Would I go back? Yeah, we would. It's steps above the typical Mexican restaurants that folks around here are used to. Is it my first choice? No. So....if ya'll don't get into the taqueria scene, this would be a restaurant we would recommend. Beer is good and cold and the service was really good too. Try it. Out

Ordered grilled chicken and shrimp on rice cover in cheese. The shrimp was over powering fishy smelling and the rice was a beef of left over mush. Traded it in for grilled chicken with cheese and the chicken was low jerky! The server wouldn't even give chips Togo with the whole Togo order i placed! 17.00 for extremely small street corn salad and a cheese dip only! Straight trash! Don't do it! I'm disputing the transaction with my bank and the Lil server with the short man complex gets zero tip!

Definitely could've been better. the order was wrong, first the brought something I didn't order. I ordered carne asada plate, they brought to my husband a plate with rice and another with beans then later another plate with just little pieces of meat (look like leftovers cut in pieces) when he order street tacos. Last they charge me for a tacos that I never saw. I think the waitress was all over the place and so worried to serve many tables when she couldn't take a simple order.

We were in Town for the State Wrestling at Lexington High School. After that event we went to El Jimador for dinner. The Service was sub standard at best. The Waitress didn't know what kind of Tamales they had, didn't show interest in finding out. So I just told her at that point just give me whatever kind of tamales you have. The roasted corn salad was no more then frozen corn with seasoned Mayo. I have had many Tamales in my life from can, to good home made. By far these were the worst I have ever had. I ordered 3 and only could stand eating 1 and 1/2. When I told the waitress to take the Tamales back that they were crappy, she looked at me like "oh well". My son had a Mole chichen plate and he said that the Mole sauce didn't have good flavor and he didn't finish his plate either. As far as decent Mexican food, Taco Bell would have been a much better choice. Keep in mind this was the only time we have been here, I guess we can say it was just an off night for this place.

This place has got it going on some of the best Mexican food I've ever had!
Tacos were skimpy on the meat n cheese. Enchiladas were good and even better when I put some green salsa on them from the salsa bar. They did bring out some extra taco meat for us. That helped a lot. The overall flavor was much better than the competition. Carlos was very attentive and polite. Nice decorations and plates,glasses etc. Our New Mexican Restaurant is EL JIMADOR !!

I used to love this place, but it has gone downhill. I ordered fish tacos and when they out, I thought it was a joke. They were flat on the plate with very little fish and a dusting of coleslaw. Another time at lunch I orderef the lunch fajitas... It was a smaller portion than dinner, but still ended up costing me $18.00 with a tip for a waiter that didn't even know what fajitas were. ??♀️??

We're big Mexican restaurant fans and try to visit a new one when we visit places. Since we are in Lexington a lot we have just about tried them all. At this point this location is in our top 2. Interestingly, this is the same chain as the one at sandhill which I don't care for and lake Murray Blvd which I also don't care for, and the new location in Camden which hasn't gotten their act together yet so for me to like this one says a lot.We'd def try this location again...y'all should too!
