“Came here for the Rueben Dog and this place did NOT disappoint. Located in a shopping plaza off Reidville Rd (exit 22 off I-26) is this hidden gem. Excellent service, but let’s get into the good stuff.Bacon Beans - warm, hint of bbq sauce with chopped bacon and onions…great texture and flavor that just pops.Fries - just enough salt on them to give them a flavor..but can tell they were cooked in a batch. (Some felt overcooked, others felt under) but by no means am I complaining about them because I like it that way.Homemade Slaw - O…M…G…this was an unexpected surprise. Perfectly seasoned and not mushy..just enough texture to give you that Cole Slaw that your grandmother always made.Chili Dog All the Way - you can tell it isn’t canned chili but it did seem that it was lacking something..but that’s prolly cuz of all the other flavors I was munching on.Godfather Dog - Sausage Dog with peppers and onions. Excellent…not much more to say.Reuben Dog - Sausage Dog with Spicy Mustard, Provolone Cheese, Slaw, 1000 Island Dressing….this was absolutely amazing.All that came to $17…..again, $17!!! This place is a 20/10 and most definitely will be back again.“
“How popular is Garcia's Hot Dogs? This eastside institution has 12,000 Facebook followers. It makes sense since that's where you need to go to get up-to-the-minute info on whether or not Garcia's is going to be out. While not commonly seen during the winter, once spring starts to arrive you can be sure you'll find Garcia's in that familiar spot at the corner of the Family Dollar parking lot at 16th and Emerson Avenue. It's a great spot, really. Garcia's is just down from the Community East campus and has a spot that is highly visible and easily accessible for most traffic. I avoided Garcia's for a long time because my hot dog taste tends to be fairly simple. However, I've been trying to give more leave to my beloved eastside - I live about two miles north of this spot and only one house off of Emerson. So, yep, pretty much every night when I'm coming home from work I drive by Garcia's. Garcia's offers hot dogs, brats, sausages, and an amazing array of combinations and condiments. You can get drinks from a cooler. It's important to note, of course, that Garcia's is a street vendor. So, if the weather's particularly nasty he may not be here. You can nearly always find out on his Facebook page. I was a little concerned going into this season. After a long winter (okay, it at least felt long), I'd noted a BBQ stand at this corner a few times. I was hoping Garcia's would return and I was hoping Garcia was alright. The food here is wonderful. The people here are friendly. Garcia is simply awesome. Garcia is a California transplant who came to Indy in 2011. He's got a long history in this business, however, he moved to town to be closer to his brother. It wasn't long before he realized this area didn't have a hot dog cart. I know at one point there was an effort to get an actual food truck, however, for now I continue to see him set up on the corner. The "cart" has actually gotten a bit fancier with a canopy and more expanded set-up. There's typically a line, but he serves quickly and seemingly always has a smile. Prices are fair and he seems to be most famous for his chili cheese dog. The eastside gets a bad wrap. While I grew up in Pike Township, I moved over to Lawrence Township around 12 or so years ago and have been quite happy. Places like Garcia's are part of the reason why. Garcia's Hot Dogs offers great food, friendly service, and gives the Little Flower neighborhood an absolutely wonderful vibe. The Pogue's Run Arts and Nature Park is also just down the street - so you can grab a hot dog and go chill at the park for a bit. Perfection!“
“Came in on a Friday night. (3-24) We had to wait maybe 10 minutes for a party of 6 to get a table. The service was very good. It's hard getting good service now these days. All the food came out in a timely manner. The chili cheese fries were nice and hot. They use shoestring fries. The chicken they used in the salad was tasty. If you're into sports watching, this is a good place. They have multiple TVs playing games. Lots of parking, and they have an outdoor seating area too.“
“Let's start with service. We went on Christmas Eve in the evening and the staff was happy and helpful. That's rare to have that on a late night and especially a holiday. The place was pretty empty (hello Christmas Eve, lol) but festively decorated with a huge nutcracker. Our food was hot and as ordered. I liked the fries a lot more than the burger but I always find those little meat pieces that throw chewing off when I eat ground beef. Nothing against the location. Overall very happy with the staff and location.“
“I went there for the first time, I had already ordered the two chilli dogs (I don't eat pork) there credit card machine wasn't working that day. They gave me the Chilli Dogs anyway. Great customer service so I go there at least once a week. I get two Chilli Dogs all the way add ketchup.“
“American owned small southern diner. The food is only cooked when ordered which I like. The food was very good, enjoyed it very much. If chilli cheeseburgers is what you like, come try these. Hand cut fries, and ice cream.In regards to waitsatff, they are new and got some kinks to work out but they will get there. Would like them to stay open longer. Will go back again for sure.“
