A Group of 4 Gals for Galentine's Day had an AMAZING TIME. Service! Food! Ambiance! Music! All is a 5 STAR review. Honeysuckle Pizza! Happy Hour Fries & Shrimp Skewers. Will definitely Return!

We arrived about 25 minutes prior to our reservation, but they were able to seat us within 10 minutes. We ordered seafood dip, smoked wings, half rack of smoked ribs, Mac n cheese, and spiced fries. IMO, the wings aren't smoked, just fried, but fried very well and were good. The ribs had a great smoke to them and were tender as well. I used the mustard based bbq sauce. I didn't care for the Mac and cheese, but my wife liked it. There was nothing special about the fries. The seafood dip was ok. I didn't taste any crab in it, but it was good and paired well with the bread. Really enjoyed the ambiance and the views.

Our experience at Black Drum was phenomenal. The food and customer service was outstanding. Definitely will visit again.

Really loved Black Drum. Great BBQ platters and the sides were also really good. Nice beer selection. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. Would definitely return.

We were there as a part of Restaurant Week and we selected the Brisket Tacos, Winter Green Salad, Porkchops, and a choice of Upside Down Pineapple Cake or Banana Pudding. Everything was so good! We never would have tried some of these options if we were ordering off the menu and are so glad we did try them. If we are in Myrtle Beach again, we will definitely be going back!

Went with my daughter and her family to have dinner. She works there and wanted to show me where she works. Food was great, service was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful.

Unfortunately the food did not match the great location, setting and service. One of their “ signature” dishes for Restaurant Week was a 10 oz. Pork chop with your choice of appetizer and side. I chose the brisket tacos for the app. The brisket was over cooked and not very flavorful. The corn tacos shells were so dry they had to use 2 to keep them together. The salad was fine with a nice hot dressing. The pork chop was dry and cooked to shoe leather consistency. This was our first visit and probably our last.

We've eaten here before and have been pleased. We went to try the Restaurant Week offerings and were disappointed overall. We had a reservation in advance for 6 at 5:30 pm on Saturday, January 10. My friend and I dropped the crew off and parked the car and when we went in to meet the group, half were seated on the "couch" bench seating and half were in chairs, and my friend was seated in one of the chairs and I was seated on the "couch" with a support pole between our two-man table and the rest of the group. The support pole really turned into an impediment to free-flowing conversation within the group. The "couch" seating is terrible. It is too low to be properly seated at the correct height for the table. I'm 5'11' and it felt like I was a child seated at the grown-up table with absolutely no back support -- a very uncomfortable arrangement. We all ordered the Restaurant Week special and chose the apple-smoked pork chop as the entre'. For appetizers and soup or salad, most chose the brisket street tacos and She-Crab bisque, one chose the pork skins with pimento cheese and another the salad. We all thought those items were very good tasting and were delivered quite timely. Given that the restaurant was nowhere near capacity, we were a bit surprised that the main course took longer than expected, especially since the appetizers, soups and salad were served promptly. As the main course was served, expectations were high but were soon dashed. The "thick-cut, 10oz smoked pork chop with apple BBQ glaze" was no more than 1/2" thick, which is being generous, and doesn't come close to the menu description. It was glazed but not smoked. Besides the meat itself not having flavor, worst of all, it was tough, shockingly tough. There was a tiny bit of meat right next to the bone that was juicy and had flavor, but not even a mouthful. The "roasted garlic mashed potatoes" was a scoop of plain white, instant-potatoes. The braised collard greens, with bacon bits were the highlight.

We came here due to it being close to our hotel and people referring us here. We were looking for authentic Carolina bbq. Carolina gold is what dressing we wanted for wings, we were told by the server that yellow belly and red bbq plain dressing were the least picked . We still enjoyed the yellow belly best. Pizza was pretty good. I myself ordered fish and chips, it was nothing amazing but good. Our server was super extra peppy and fake in my opinion. We ordered desert to go for us adults later and she proceeded to tell the kids about it and how it was for a treat when we got home. When in reality it wasn’t for them and we made that clear. Also when we originally ordered wings , side salad, my fish and chips she kept referring to the wings as my husbands meal when he wanted to order fish sandwhich but due to her referring to that he felt uncomfortable. It was an okay place but I definitely won’t be spreading the word about it or be back.

The food was ok, but not great, service was great and the noise level was very obnoxious. I did not expect that music bingo was going to be going on and could not even hear my friend well enough to have a meaningful conversation.

My wife, granddaughter and I had lunch on 12/26/25. The prices were very high but we thought that meant we’d have a high quality lunch. My wife and I split a salad with chicken and poutines. My granddaughter chose Mac and cheese as always. The food was horrible. Most of the chicken in our salad was fatty and undercooked. The poutine was very salty and our granddaughters Mac and cheese was soupy. My wife and I had an upset stomach the rest of the day. We would not recommend eating at the Black Drum and will not return even for a beer. Major disappointment.
