Best seafood and the hushpuppies are out of this world! The lunch special can't be beat and the service is so wonderful and friendly. You can get fish fried or broiled, same with shrimp. If they dressed up the place, they could charge 15.00 a plate but we love it just the way it is.
Simple, friendly family decor. Friendly staff in great service. The food is fantastic! My husband had the fried chicken collars and mashed potatoes gravy. I had the hamburger steak with gravy onions and peppers, mashed potatoes and gravy and fried okra. Everything was the excellent! They even have complimentary cheese grits that were very good ❤️ My belly is full and we were very happy to stopped in here. * Note: wear your stretchy pants. You will need it! DeShawn's is a fun, down home place to get a good meal with friendly efficient service. It's a little shabby but you cannot beat the shrimp and fish lunch plate for value and well prepared southern fried food. My plate came with cheesy grits, collards, fried okra and hush puppies. You can get other sides too. We've eaten here multiple times and will certainly return.
