The food was delicious. They had rutabagas. Not a whole lot of places have that and they were awesome. Will definitely be going back some good comfort food

Definitely not for me. I had meatloaf and double mac. Macaroni and cheese is my favorite, it was dry and bland.

The hot plate was good, but the she crab soup was extremely overpriced and had so many pieces of crab shell in it.

First time trying it out from NC. The customer service was not great to be serving in a military town. The green beans were extremely salty. My portion was the size you give a toddler when you feed them. I was shocked to receive that for a $40 tab of 2 carry out plates. I would not recommend but overall, I do try to support black businesses when visiting different parts of today’s world.

The only person that was friendly with us was the lady that cleaned up our table.
We were asking what different food items were and they were talking so softly they were hard to understand.
The food had been on the buffet several hours and had dried out. Nothing tasted good enough to make me want to give them another try.

Let's start with the obvious and slide to the sublime... The taste was authentic soul food! Well prepared and delicious. The inside seating is clean and adequate but somewhat dated and simple. Right outside the entrance, there is a Taishan Stone Guardian (IYDK, please Google) which welcomes you and sets the mood. Once inside, you not only sense that this is a family-owned and family-run restaurant, but they also really make guests feel like a part of the family! How rare in today's world. Pro tip: make sure and get the gravy on either the red rice or hoppin' John- you'll thank me later! Matter of fact, gimme them thumbs up now, if you agree! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Ordered through to-good-to-go so we are supposed to get some of what's left over at closing . Instead they went to the back and got some rice and beans one out of the 2 plates we paid for came with corn bread why only one ? Neither plate had any meat on it. So they lost out on using the app to promote their food.

We had an awesome experience. Food was amazing! We had oxtails, smothered pork chop, okra/tomatoes, red rice, collards, green beans, and cabbage. It was all fantastic! And they were very friendly. Big portions too! Wish we had some better soul food like this in Savannah!! We also happened to be there for some 90s R&B music jamming so that was a plus too!

For BIPOC owned place & the pics they have online, we thought this place was gonna slap. It's one of those local places that the locals absolutely love & it comes highly recommended by them (because they don't know any better). Granted we went about an hour or 45min before close, so some of the food was kind of cold (it's served cafeteria style in the warming dishes that sit on top of water). I like my veggies a bit on the fresher side (al dente), so you might like it, but the cabbage was destroyed to me. It was cooked down so much that it was just mush, not a fan. The majority of the food was underseasoned, we were all surprised. The greens & the green beans were tasty but too much meat juice, which made meat grease & made every thing taste that way. We can say we did it for the culture but we won't be going back. Lovely people though.
