Despite my reassurance that there was no rush on my end, he generously provided pastries to enjoy while patiently waiting for my dish to be ready. “Recently, we held a birthday party here and the entire night exceeded expectations. The staff stayed on top of refills, drink orders,
food orders, and they made sure the entire party of 30 plus was taken care of. I have never seen such a well oiled machine in any restaurant or bar and I have to give credit where credit is due. I ordered the 10 smoked wings, phosphate poutine fries, cheddar poppers, and armadillo eggs. Everything tasted amazing including the wings! The meat was smoked and juicy! As soon as you bite into the wing you capture the seasoning rub of the outside of the chicken and when dipped into the sauces makes it to die for. The chicken wing sizes are huge in size comparable to the size of most Chinese egg rolls. To be honest out of the ten wings I could only eat six before I felt full. The fries were covered in cheese curds brown gravy and topped with cheese to hold the gravy within the fries. It took us some time to drive here from James Island but well worth the drive and the wait!“

“What a wonderful stay we had at the North Charleston Marriott!! Jessica at the front desk is absolutely incredible!! She was very sweet, professional and accommodating to all the guests…a true gem! Housekeeping also did a great job and we love that they even offer housekeeping since some hotels don’t in these post-Covid days. This hotel is in a great location, just off I-26, close to the outlet stores and restaurants, but far enough away from all the traffic in that area. Our room was a King Junior Suite and it was very spacious, with one and a half bathrooms, and a comfortable couch. Not a lot of drawer storage for clothes (2 small drawers in the desk & 1 under the safe), but there was plenty of room to hang clothes to the left of the closet, so it all worked out. You can also hang some things in the small armoire/closet, but the items hang front to back, so it’s a little difficult to access things. The safe was plenty roomy and the bath and bed linens were nice. The bed is softer than our bed at home, but we both slept pretty well. We loved the walk-in shower and the water pressure and temperature were truly great! The bathrooms had built-in night lights behind the mirrors and the bed had this really cool ambient lighting above/behind the headboard that could be turned on or off. Lots of extra seating in this room with several chairs and the L shaped couch. The tv selection was just “ok”, in part because several of the channels, such as HGTV, did not come in. The wifi worked well at times, but no so well at other times. The AC worked well and there were plenty of places to charge your electronic devices. We ate dinner at the restaurant and Kelly & Becca were our severs on different nights. The food at the restaurant, HC Provisions, was excellent!! We had the wings, the chicken and waffles, the Caesar salad and the housemaid chips and they were all excellent! This hotel seems to be a popular venue for events. There was one going on Saturday night and we noticed several business functions going on during our stay as well. Crystal and Sheila were in the M Club Lounge at breakfast time and they were both great and did a great job of keeping everything well stocked. The breakfast offered scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, yogurt, cereal, muffins and pastries, hot oatmeal and biscuits and gravy till 10am. During the rest of the day, you could pop in for coffee, water, sodas and juices as well as snacks such as chips and cookies. The evening offered hors d’oeuvres but the one night (Monday) we arrived at 7:20pm, everything was already being cleaned up, so I guess we missed it. The outdoor area offered a pool and two fire pit areas which would be great to sit and catch up with friends and family if you were here with a small group. We had such a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay here again.“

“I can’t remember my server’s name, but she was amazing. Not only that, there were other servers who were very attentive to my needs and if I needed anything in addition to her. The drinks were great. The food was delicious. I didn’t take any pictures, but the steak bowl and fries pickles were tasty! Service was impeccable. Food came out fast & fresh. The atmosphere felt cozy & safe.“

“My girlfriends and I booked one of the 'Curated Chef Menus' for a bachelorette dinner recently and had an amazing experience! We had a group of 12 so I booked through their Event Manager and was given a few prix fixe menus to choose from. We went with the Red Sauce is for Lovers package - highly recommend!! The food was absolutely incredible, the portion sizes were great, and everyone left full & happy. My friends are still talking about the roasted cauliflower! And the dessert came out in the cutest little miniature espresso martini glasses. Definitely suggest going this route if you have a large group! Super seamless experience, and the service was great“

“The words Honeysuckle Rose. This place was soo amazing I had to go to google to find new ways to describe it. The food was exquisite!!! The service was top notch. They even took my jacket when I came in. Special shout out to Shane !!! He was the host super knowledgeable on all the wines. “We had a wonderful experience last night at Bearcat. We had a rare "date night" and chose to sit at the bar while electing for the chefs tasting menu. WOW. The food was incredible, the service top notch and attentive. The whole experience was refined - plating, presentation, and even little history lessons while being served - but it was never "poncy" or "snooty" - it felt like anyone could come in, have an INCREDIBLE meal, fun conversation, and become part of the Bearcat family. We'll definitely be back- the scallops dish and the pork belly dish will be menu items I dream of until we return! P S. don't sleep on the cocktails! Whether ordering from the thoughtfully designed menu or requesting something creative from the bar team's minds - you won't be disappointed!“

“I found out about Southbound, through my job. I had to go do some work there, and found the owner and everyone there, super friendly. Most people at restaurants ignore working people while they are there. As my 42nd anniversary was quickly approaching, I decided to give this place a try. Some of my past picks, have not been the best. Southbound cleared EVERY hurdle I have about restaurants. From the moment we approached the restaurant, great service began! While coming thru the gate, the hostess yelled out, "HEY LARRY" and then said, "This must be your beautiful wife"! Like CHEERS, it felt great to go somewhere, "Where everybody knows your name" We were seated and got to view the open fire oven. I had dropped off 42 roses the week before for them to put on our table, for my wife. Tropical storm Debbie, and downtown flooding prevented us from going exactly on our anniversary. I was worried that store bought roses, would not last thru the weeklong delay, Joel assured me everything would be taken care of, and not to worry. As we were seated, there on the table, sat 42 roses. Fresh, and arranged with baby breath flowers included. I was told the young lady with the hostess had arranged them. They were gorgeous! They also had an anniversary card on the table from them, not something I had dropped off. The service was tremendous, the food indescribably outstanding! I have only had steak Tar Tar once before in my life, and was greatly afraid to try it again, as the first time was awful. It was superb! They take great pride in the presentation of their food products. I felt like I was in an episode of Master Chef. We had the steak, as well as the Sea bass, okra, corn, sweet potatoes, and the Caramel cake. Everything absolutely wonderful! This was a truly wonderful and memorable dining experience!! I would give 100 stars, and a Siskel and Ebert two thumbs up! There was only one thing I was disappointed about. No sweet tea! Were In Charleston SC, no sweet tea. Everything else totally made up for it though. The staff even had everyone present sign a menu, wishing us a happy anniversry1 I will most definatly go there again for a special occasion. Thanks to Andrew, Joel, and the entire staff, for making this night special!!“

I go out to breakfast 7 days a week x 365 days a year .. have had my morning meal in several South Carolina establishments..you get the picture. Sunrise Bistro recently hired a a baker, Maddy. I have had a blueberry, lemon, cranberry/orange and nutella/raspberry muffin..I can say without hesitation these are by far the best muffins I have ever had. “If you’re looking for a fancy pre-dinner date night spot, this is it! It’s inside the Charleston Place, a super fancy hotel with plenty of decorations and exploration to do, including a huge model train set and dozens of Christmas trees when we went. The entrance to the Thoroughbred Club also had a grand piano and a harpist, and the inside of the Thoroughbred Club had another grand pianist playing live music. The environment was cozy and old-money, with complimentary fancy nuts. The drinks were great as well.“
