Everything was pretty good. The buffet was essentially non existent so we ordered from the menu. It took a little while but not bad. It was worth the wait. The young lady who waited on us was friendly. She did a good job but nothing exceptional stood out. Very dimly lit. Prices are reasonable overall

Arrived late in town and wanted something quick and not too heavy at 9 pm. They were close and thought we would try them. Very, very good hibachi bowl. Slight smoky grilled taste that was delicious. All freshly cooked just right. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

The first time visiting this sushi place was very good food. The endless sushi and Habachi is worth it. The menu is also there if you want to order other items.

came here today with my boyfriend and the food tasted like grocery store sushi. my boyfriend got a salad and the vegetables looked FAKE.

Came out of town to Charleston and wanted hibachi, so I tried Taste of Tokyo. I ordered steak and hibachi chicken and honestly this was one of the blandest meals I’ve ever had from a Japanese restaurant. The meat had absolutely no flavor or seasoning at all. It looked and tasted like the chicken and steak were just thrown on the grill plain and served immediately.

I attached a picture because I’m not exaggerating — this does not look like quality hibachi. Even the rice was dry and the whole meal lacked flavor. I hate leaving bad reviews because I know it affects businesses, but I tried calling multiple times to resolve the issue and nobody answered the phone.

Really disappointing experience, especially coming from out of town expecting good hibachi. I don’t know what I did to deserve this but I won’t be driving nowhere near there.
