The Spot on the Alley Reviews
The bartenders just drink and don’t take care of the people at the bar. The owner stepped in and kicked us out because I cashed out and it was just my friend that was drinking. Guess he wasn’t making enough?
As a wife of an engineer in the Nuclear Power industry I know first hand what it's like to live in a hotel for months on end. Many of his crew works night shift and Jim has been there himself. The Spot on the Alley offers delicious food at decent prices, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors. The staff is friendly, but service might be slow during busy times. Highlights include the patty melt and queso & chips, along with the Cajun grilled chicken sandwich. Although the Philly cheesesteaks may not meet traditional expectations, they provide a unique take on the classic. The wings are particularly recommended, and the Jerk Wings are noted for their great flavor and crispy texture. Despite some challenges with changing staff, the atmosphere is perfect for a post-game meal or a fun Sunday outing, especially with the lively music during jazz nights. However, it is advised to manage expectations for service when dining on the back deck, as it can be quite loud. Parking can be a challenge due to competition among local businesses, but the overall experience makes it a great spot to visit after a sports event.
