The Spot on the Alley Reviews
As a wife of an engineer in the Nuclear Power industry I know first hand what it's like to live in a hotel for months on end. Many of his crew works night shift and Jim has been there himself. You get off work at 4 or 5 am and nothing is open. You can't shut your stomach off so you're left with gas station or vending machine food. Very small refrigerators in the hotel rooms so you can't stock up on much other than some deli meat and cheese.

This place has the best fried okra and the grilled cheese hit the spot.
The food has improved dramatically as well as the service. Good sized menu options and the portions are very generous. It’s just good comfort food and well prepared. It can get crowded and loud but just adds to the experience. Great country music (real country music) in the background! Great to hear Merle Haggard all evening!

The Spot on the Alley offers delicious food at decent prices, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors. The staff is friendly, but service might be slow during busy times. Highlights include the patty melt and queso & chips, along with the Cajun grilled chicken sandwich. Although the Philly cheesesteaks may not meet traditional expectations, they provide a unique take on the classic. The wings are particularly recommended, and the Jerk Wings are noted for their great flavor and crispy texture. Despite some challenges with changing staff, the atmosphere is perfect for a post-game meal or a fun Sunday outing, especially with the lively music during jazz nights. However, it is advised to manage expectations for service when dining on the back deck, as it can be quite loud. Parking can be a challenge due to competition among local businesses, but the overall experience makes it a great spot to visit after a sports event.
