I've been coming here for about 5 years. Maybe even more. But tonight something was just off, the vibe wasn't as friendly as it usually is. The cook was not good at all. Every time I go I order the same thing. Didn't get my two little shrimps that they always ALWAYS have given you with your meal. and tonight, I found Onion skin in my food. What if my 3 year old would have choked on that? I don't know but Shoguns has ALWAYS been very very VERY great the past five years. But tonight's food was not so great. I'm not sure if tonight you guys had a new Perí³n handling the vegetables or what not but they need to peel them onions right.

Mother's Day dinner. Well...I was hoping for a more fun atmosphere with good food and entertainment. Our chef only spoke to us to confirm our order. No fun tricks or humor or the usual show you get at ANY Japanese steakhouse. Very disappointed. The food really was not that good either.

We have been to this restaurant so much, I cannot count the times. Each and every experience was wonderful in all ways! The owners, the sushi chef, all of the chefs and wait staff were the best of the best!!!! We will miss them all terribly! To the owners, please know how much it meant to come to your restaurant. We got there about 9 PM with a group after my grandson's hs graduation, & needed 2 hibachi tables adjoined, which we got after only a 15-min wait! The cooks performing their "magic & fire" at the grill entertained our 4-yr-old identical-twin grandsons so well they even ate more of their veggies! Our food was DELICIOUS too, we had chicken & shrimp with rice & veggies & 2 sauces, clear soup, & salad with ginger dressing! A small cup of vanilla ice cream is served at the end. Our group had a blast, & they NEVER tried to rush us at all!! Go LATE, & EnJoY!!👨ðŸ»â€ðŸŽ“👵👴

First off, I never write reviews about restaurants - that's how you know I'm serious about this. This was the worst hibachi experience ever from the start. Asked for a sushi menu and they don't serve sushi on Tuesdays. It literally says “sushi bar†and they couldn't serve us sushi. The cook barely interacted aside from dropping the food on our plates; absolutely no “show†whatsoever. Vegetable portion was tiny and the veggies were undercooked, fried rice was just steamed rice with some soy sauce tossed on (didn't even put eggs in it or “fryâ€it), and prices are expensive compared to the nicer Japanese steakhouses in Greenville. You're MUCH better off getting out of Spartanburg if you're craving Japanese. Way overpriced for such small portions. Very disappointed. Absolutely would not recommend.

There was no show even though we sat at the grill. I ordered steak and a third of it was inedible fat. The only reason I didn't give it less stars is because the waitress was friendly and the scallops were good.

Had friends in from out of town we all had hibachi the chef was rude and acted like he was tortured to be there food was not good at all dirty restaurant all in all like a place that doesn't have any pride in their food or their atmosphere!
