We have been coming to your establishment for over 40 years. Thank you very much for a truly enjoyable dinner. It must’ve taken a lot of time and effort to prepare such a delicious meal in which we were so fortunate to be a part of; number 13 rocks!!

I have ate here since 1983, work took us across the country but every visit home had to include a trip to El Matador. so glad we are home to stay & have the BEST MEXICAN FOOD in the state

El Matador Restaurant | Mexican is a place with a unique, romantic vibe that feels like walking into grandma's house, complete with low ceilings, yellow cheese, small seating facing the same direction, regular house sofas in the lobby, and music that is a bit loud. The atmosphere, décor, and staff have only gotten better over the years, while the food has not changed because they got it right the first time. The food is delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, though a little spicy. Specific meals mentioned include Coconut Shrimp Tacos, El Matador, Chile relleno, Chimichanga, Rice, refried beans, and a fabulous dessert. The service is excellent, friendly, and attentive, with the Chef engaging to ensure everything is to liking. There can be a long wait during downtown festivals, but the service is great. The restaurant has been around 60 years and was in a Danny Trejo movie. It is a place to try at least once for the weirdest combination of things that somehow fits the vibe.
