Poke Yama, located on Main Street in Travelers Rest, offers a wonderful ambience with industrial decor and ample seating. The restaurant is popular and has a pleasant atmosphere with nice music. While the sushi is good, it's not exceptional; however, the hibachi dishes are highly recommended. The chicken and shrimp are cooked perfectly, and the veggies and rice are very good. The lunch specials are reasonably priced, and the service is excellent, with attentive waitresses. The spicy tuna roll could be improved by having the spicy sauce throughout. The mochi is a tasty dessert option. Despite a less than ideal encounter with a hostess, the overall experience at Poke Yama is positive.
