Service is good every time I come here. Ambiance is decent as well and the restaurant is clean every time. Sushi here though is at best okay...very thin slices of fish and small portioning but it tastes fresh! Unfortunately the Nigiri Sushi entree is way below par (don't let you choose your pieces) and don't state on it that's it's chef choice which is pretty upsetting for a sushi enjoyer! Would still highly recommend this Restaurant.
I've been a loyal patron of Sushi Yama for years, and it never ceases to amaze me that such a quaint town like Travelers Rest could be home to the finest sushi in South Carolina.My visits to Sushi Yama have been marked by their signature Omakase experience, for which I give the chefs a 24-hour notice.
