Brasstown Creek Gathering Place BBQ

We stopped by with our dog on our anniversary. The food was great, meat tender, portions large, and service kind. We ate outside. We ordered beef sandwich, ribs and pulled pork, and a chicken plate. I like the Carolina vinegar-based mustard sauce, so I ordered it. My husband got two other kids of sauces, but close your eyes, and they would all taste the same. Carolina should have a tangy bite to it with a sprinkling of spice. Sone people love a Memphis sweet sauce but I am not a fan of sweet sauce. I wish I could have gotten a more vinegar infused sauce. They all tasted so very sweet, like bases were all made of simple syrup. They are dog-friendly as long as they are outside and on a leash. There is plenty of space to sit comfortably outside. Parking is generous and the creek behind the restaurant was divine. Other than the sauces, I would give this restaurant 5 stars.

This place has OMG BBQ. Really good bbq. They make an in-house hot sauce that is unique and delicious!!! Very off the beaten path but worth looking for. Good luck because it's in the middle of nowhere. Google maps thinks it's a trout farm ... not. Keep driving.

This is by far the best bbq joint I've ever come across. I don't normally leave reviews but i had to for this place. If you go make sure you take cash as they don't have a card reader but they have a honorary system and accept I owe yous. I'm not from the area or even the state but came across this great place and so glad I did! The people there are amazing and the food is fantastic you can't go wrong going to this place! Best bbq and sweet tea I ever had hands down! I will be back again before I leave town.

This was my first time here. The line went from one side of the building to the other, so I knew it had to be good. The staff was exceptional. I got a pulled pork plate with baked beans and brunswick stew. The pulled pork is some of the best that I've had anywhere- cooked perfectly! The baked beans were a little on the sweet side at first, but a little hot sauce and they were great. The brunswick stew wasn't the type that I prefer, but it's rare that anyone has it. I was told the ribs are amazing, so I'll definitely be back for those! Highly recommended.

Amazing food. Best BBQ in the state as far as I'm concerned. Only reason I can't give five across the board is the layouts kinda weird. This place desperately needs to shift its registers up towards the front instead of next to the kitchen. I'm sure they have their reasons for why they think it makes sense but you gotta walk all the way to the back of the store to get to the front of the line. Kinda weird. Menus behind the line, can't see. Wouldn't be so bad if they weren't always busy but they are

Sweet Jesus, this place has some good FOOD!

Decent Barbecue in a very scenic area. I should note that the South Carolina mustard sauce here is different from anything else I have tasted. First it is brown and is very sweet. It also has a bit of a vinegar flavor with the mustard. I am personally not a big fan of very sweet sauces, however, if that is up your alley this is the place. The Pulled pork doesn't come chopped much, so you will likely need to pull it. The pork is also had a lot of fat that wasn't fully rendered. I should also mention the portions are massive and will likely be enough for 2 meals which is great! Overall, worth a road trip for the entire experience!

Holy portions! This bbq place knows exactly who they’re catering to: hungry hikers! All of the entrees and appetizers are huge. My husband and I did not realize this and ended up ordering more than we could eat!The pulled chicken and pork plates were yummy. We were a little disappointed in the sides, they weren’t anything to write home about. I ordered a sweet potato not knowing it was a full sweet potato that I had to prepare myself. A little off putting. But the sauces were great and everything had great flavor.Keep in mind they only accept cash!
