“Oh my goodness, I don't even know where to start. This place was amazing. Don't let the appearance fool you -- after all, it is a small town diner. We were seated promptly, and we each ordered one of the specials. Food didn't take long at all, but as we waited it was very evident that the owner (Martha) did know all the locals, as another reviewer stated. And you could tell she really cared about them. Before the meals came, Martha brought a piece of chocolate cake for each of us. Since we hadn't ordered it, I asked why. Well, whenever a customer has a birthday, they serve free dessert to everyone. Wow! (And because I happened to mention I don't like chocolate, she even substituted it for the most amazing piece of caramel apple pie I have ever had.) My husband had the chicken fried steak special. Truly unlike any I'd ever seen before. Real meat and a real substantial ratio of meat to breading. I had the patty melt special - and again, I have never seen that much meat in a patty melt. It was at least an inch thick. If we are ever back in Winner, we will stop in again! There was just a real friendly, neighborly vibe to the place.”

“There are few choices in Winner. That's just the way it is. We are here a number of times each year with a group, and we typically create a standing order for lunch. They always get everybody's order correct, and even label the bags for us. And they are friendly.”

“I put an online order in during a roadtrip. We got to the McDonalds and our food was all ready to go when we got there. I asked the gal who was cleaning where the cups were and she showed me and thanked me using my name. She remembered my name without even looking at the receipt . I thought it was sweet. The restaurant was clean as well. My husband and I were both impressed with how well our sandwiches were put together compared to other McDonald's who slop them together.”
