Honestly, this was the best fried chicken I’ve had in a while. It was amazing. The texture was perfect ! crunchy and juicy. The beans that came with it were great too. This place deserves top rating, their fried chicken beats the giant brands by a mile. Staff was incredible, and I really loved my experience here. Definitely gonna stop by again for sure.

Delightful little place in an unassuming spot. I had driven by them plenty of times but finally decided to try them out today and grabbed some food to take to my Mom's place for lunch. I waited a couple minutes for the people ahead of me to order and observed the very small team offering up kind, folksy service and serving up orders with impressive speed. Very pleasant interactions and although I placed a fairly large order with no advance notice, they politely cautioned me it would take about 15 minutes. I agreed and sure enough, they had it all packed up nicely for me right on time!

As for the food itself? Man! It was a real treat and my Mom and fiance really enjoyed everything we got. Chicken, baked beans, potato wedges and some dinner rolls and all of it was delicious! The chicken was well seasoned with a great crisp, juicy and very tender. The baked beans and potato wedges were both just as good; very flavorful and clearly made with care. They've got some good recipes, for sure. Overall it made for an excellent lunch and I will absolutely stop by again sometime.

My husband and I visit Custer 3 times a year and each time we’ve tried to get over to Dakota Broasted Chicken and today we finally made it. It’s the BEST chicken we’ve had in years, along with the delicious beans, slaw and potatoes. They’re closed tomorrow and we leave Monday but when we come back next year that will be our first stop!! Whatever you do, don’t pass this place up. You will be very sorry because they’re food is DELICIOUS.

Delicious chicken. Great service. Very reasonable prices. It’s like your grandma cooked her chicken dinner for you.

This was delicious! I'm so glad my hubby spotted it. The chicken was finger licking good, the potatoes were homemade and they gave our dog 2 doggy treats.

We recently stayed in Custer for a week while we toured the Black Hills. This is the only restaurant we visited more than once. The chicken was so good !

This is the best, most tender, chicken in the Black Hills. I go out of my way to eat here. Their potato wedges are delicious too, tender inside, crispy outside, and seasoned to perfection. A definite area gem worth checking out!

Best broasted chicken in Custer SD❤️ Friendly staff and fast ordering. Only minutes before you receive your order. Drive up to order and pull up to the pick up window. How much easier does it get😍😍

Not sure what folks are on about, vistied based on reviews, so maybe we had a bad batch, but imo wasn't any better than grocery store quality over at lynns as leg was hard and over cooked, thigh was a little better but still maaa. And they put pepper in the slaw (??) Who does that, and they should post a warning?

It cost $45 for 3 dinners, way too much for quality. The wedges were the shining star. Visited on a hot Tuesday at 4:30. Wife mentioned they need shade while waiting in the walk up line in the hot sun and sweating.

Amazing food. Best to take home. Eating at the tables outside in the wind can be tricky but it's worth it.
