If you're visiting the Mount Rushmore area in South Dakota, this is a must stop place in Custer. My son and I each got a slice of strawberry rubarb pie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. So good!
Our family of seven (4 generations) from Texas had dinner at the Purple Pie Place while staying at Custer visiting the Black Hills area. My daughter and I knew after seeing all the pie options that we wanted to share a sandwich and have a piece of pie. We had the Turkey Panini and it was very good. Others in our family ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, the Mac n Cheese w/Bacon, the Chili-Cheese Dog and the Chicken Salad Sandwich. Everything was very good! Mostly a dessert place, but a good spot for a light meal. We stopped here for dinner. I had the turkey bacon panini and my wife had the chicken pot pie. We both got peach pie with peach ice cream for dessert. Everything was good but the pie and ice cream is the real reason to come here.
