This place is closed. Should be pulled from Yelp. Drove all the way down from Hill City for breakfast only to find the place has been shuttered.

The restaurant was just fine. They were short-staffed so it took longer than we want it.

Breakfast was great. Friendly service.

Dakota cowboy is a perfect place to enjoy your meal. Ambience is too good, total cowboy theme with too many hats and related artifacts as decorations. It’s little crowded so we had to wait for nearly 10-15 mins to get a table. They also have section for shopping goods and even a photographer was present there during our visit. We bought one of his work as well. Service is little slow, but food is tasty and fulfilling. We ordered two veggie omelettes and regular coffee. Nice place for a good breakfast.

Great breakfast spot in Custer! Super friendly service. All the standard family breakfast favs with the option of a short stack of Belgian waffles instead of toast. Fun change up. Decor is simple with cowboy hats hanging up. There was an artist in residence with beautiful photos for sale in the gift shop area.

We ate there for 4 mornings as it was close to our hotel and the food was amazing. However, we had the same waitress all 4 days. Today, she forgot our pops, we had to ask and the pop was warm and not carbonated. The food was good but she never apologized someone else had to get us our pops, never came back to check if we needed anything more or if food was okay. We waited 15 mins for our bill and had to go up and ask. Needless to say no tip today.

They made us one hell of a breakfast. Big plates of good homemade diner food. I love some good diner food when on vacation and this place delivers.

Wait staff tried their best to compensate for the kitchen……Waited 45 min just to get a potato skin app, all the food was charred and burnt. The fries were cold/underdone. When we ordered there were only three other tables sat.

This place is struggling from staffing shortage (COVID fallout). The kitchen was backed up and service was slow. But the owner was friendly, apologetic and upfront about it, and people seemed to be willing to wait. There was a gift shop and a local photographer’s exhibit to help us kill time. When we finally got our food it was better than expected. Solid diner fare, cooked and seasoned well. This is a local business worth supporting and we hope they’re still around next time we visit!

Wonderful, hot, affordable breakfast. Fun decor for kids and families. They were short staffed like everywhere, but the staff was wonderful, friendly and helped each other out. We were only there an hour total for a party of 6 but it was worth a little wait for the good pancakes, French toast, bacon, hash browns and biscuit and gravy platters. Hot coffee continuously topped off. Will support this business again.

Food was fine! We all got the chicken fried steaks they were crispy and fresh and hot. Eggs Toast and browns were fine. ... but .... the service from the taller of the 2 young boys was absolutely hilarious we had a good laugh he was just adorable. Kept forgetting what he was doing (he's young and learning) it made our morning over breakfast so funny.- my daughter says 5 stars mom lol- and I agree! Very polite and respectful- hats off to his mom ;) thank you for breakfast. Our next time in town we will be back.

I came with 2 other people and 2 of us got pancakes. My pancakes were over cooked and I couldn’t cut them for how rough they were. The other persons pancakes were raw and still had dough coming out. Then the other persons meal had eggs that resemble a microwave egg meal. The “big fluffy” pancakes were the size of a small hand and that’s even pushing it.
