We had an overall good experience at Maria's Mexican Restaurant. Our waiter Treyson was kind and very friendly. The homemake corn tortillas were delicious and didn't fall apart, unlike those of many other restaurants. The beans were also surprisingly superb. However, we were sad to find that they didn't serve margaritas or any other alcohol.
Good solid Mexican food, fair prices, comfortable ambiance. We had fresh guacamole w/chips along with fish tacos and barbacoa tacos that were delicious.
We went for breakfast and it was very good! Highly recommend!!
Food was mediocre at best. More of a tourist trap in my opinion.
Not the best
Went in and tried out a variety of tacos. I tried the shrimp, steak and al pastor (pork) tacos, and personally, I think the steak was by far the best. They are different from typical Mexican restaurants and they served chips (excellent and crispy) and a salsa platter, but that platter also included a black bean based sauce that was surprisingly good. Horchata was great and I think my favorite thing about the place is that they hand make the corn tortillas from the grounding stage of the corn to the actual cooking of the tortillas, and the difference can be tasted.

Great restaurant with good service and delicious food. Stopped here during a stay in Custer, and my kids asked to come back the next day.

The soft tacos were absolutely delicious, the churro donuts were like heaven for my tastebuds and the folks are kind and atmosphere relaxed with enjoyable decorations!
