So I have a mixed review to leave. We recently stayed across the street from this place, we first tried the Mt Rushmore Brewing on the back bottoms floor. HORRIBLE service, food was not worth the price tag, my drink was made wrong and then the server couldn’t even answer beer questions for us. Our last day we tried The Pounding Fathers upstairs. Totally dif, night and day!!! The food was SPECTACULAR!!!! Our drinks were amazing! And our server was PHENOMENAL!!! Wish we had eaten here every night! Was a tad more pricy, but freaking DELICIOUS!!!! 🤤

$20 for bland, dressed up instant ramen.

The broth has no body, no flavor, and the pork belly is the driest I've had since I screwed up that time in culinary school.

Friendly service, but didn't seem very informed on the menu or even the restaurant.

Road noise. Bigly. Nice space, but too loud

Decent coffee

Nice large indoor/outdoor craft brewery and restaurant. Beer was really good. We only tried the hummus. It was a bit too thick and dry for our taste but we really just came for a beer.

If you are looking for Pounding Fathers Restaurant. It is upstairs inside this place . I was told it’s a steak place

I ordered the fish and chips which plainly said it served with French fries but mine was served with potato chips. The server was quick to make things right. He was also very attentive and quick with bringing out other special requests.

The fish was excellent but the fries were some of the best that I believe I have ever had. The beer was also very good but was served a little warmer than I prefer.

I would definitely eat here and again and would request being seated with the same server.

The best food in Custer hands down. The whole table enjoyed each of their dishes. A must if you stop in Custer.

Service was slow. Food was mediocre.

Service was really bad. They’re probably understaffed but that’s not an excuse for serving things different than what’s on the menu.

Service was absolutely terrible

Food downstairs was underwhelming to say the least. Burger & fries. Shouldn’t be hard. 5 fries in the basket and still charged $16! I even pointed it out to the waiter.

The elk and bison burger were very tasty. Fresh vegetables for toppings. The beer had good flavor too. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly dogs welcome on patio. Close to Purple Pie place and Crazy Horse.

This place rocks! The beer and food were both fantastic. In addition, I was there while on a cross country road trip two weeks ago and accidentally left my purse behind and didn’t realize it until we had already traveled 3 hours west. Not only did these folks mail it back to me, all of my cash was still there when I got it back. I will always come back here when in the area!

It said on google that it was open and when we got there it was “closed for the season”. If it’s closed for the season they should update their times on google.

Service wasn’t good. Food came out barely even warm. Would definitely recommend going somewhere else in Custer to eat.
