If you want to go back in time, stopping in here for a beer (not Bud Lite) is a must to absorb its history.

For one of these places that are typical in Deadwood, I liked it because the atmosphere was chill. Nice place to rest your ears a bit and get full.

I wouldn’t recommend the place for steak or prime rib. The steak was so tough, it was hard to even cut and no flavor. I ordered medium but I don’t know why the outside was so tough. The prime rib was, at best, mediocre. I did bring up the steak problem, to a person in a red shirt, and said, it’s ok, I don’t blame you.I guess he didn’t advise the manager. We had to call him over because they tried to charged us for a shot, that we never ordered. I would not recommend the place

The waiter was rude. We ordered some food with sides and he was irritated that he had to explain what came with the meal and what was a side order. Then when he brought our drinks he had too many to carry and asked us to reach into his hands and take our drinks out of his bundled hands. He did the exact same thing with our meals. Unbelievable. We should have looked at reviews before we are here as there are several complaints about their service. Our service was just awful and they were not that busy.

Came here and the beer was beer, sat at the bar. Came here again and went to the rooftop above Stampede…it was nice. Nothing wonderful or great.

We went late. The servers and bar staff were able to keep up despite how packed the place was. The music was hip-hop, meets grand-pappys banjo playing. We did have a good time.

Great steak tips and bar food! Excellent as usual! Night life is amazing and great drinks and dance!

Saturday night 7pm over hour wait. ok. specialty was prime rib, sold out. opted for sirloin steak what a joke. salad was sad tasted like chopped salad you get in supermarket dressing was prepackaged, nothing special. gets better check out the entree cold roll, instant mashed potato and the tiniest steak I ever got for $26.00. OMG, never again. decor old that's the feel of the town. server was ok, nothing he could do. order bloody mary with tito watched never saw the bottle bartender said was in the mix, right just feel off the turnip truck. 2nd one with so called dinner was much stronger. overall steak tasted good but for the price not worth it I would not recommend eating here. so sad so disappointed

I asked at my hotel what the best dive bar in Deadwood was and they told me the 10--not a dive bar, but awesome in it's own right--and Bodega. While Bodega is clean, the staff friendly, and locals abound it has the most 'dive' vibe I think you can find in Deadwood. And sometimes that's just what you're looking for. The beer is cold, there are actual penny slots where you can just play a penny--and they're not hidden. Any visit to Deadwood and I always find myself back here. You should too.
