This place is all about the atmosphere. The antique bar and setting is pretty cool, though. Service was attentive but kind of slow. There was a large wedding party there that was taking a lot of the staff's time. The food was OK, basic bar stuff plus some beef-centric entrees. My wife had the buffalo burger. I had the prime rib French dip sandwich. Dinner with some beers place wasn't cheap, but I'm not sure if any place in Hill City is.

Pretty good food. A little more attention to detail would help....but I understand it gets busy. Just please check the salads for being wilted by over refrigeration before bringing it out.Definitely fun atmosphere if in booth. Tables in center are way to small but work if it's crowded and you can not get a booth.

Walking around Hill City we found this for lunch. Very happy! My brisket sandwich was great and my wife loved (and couldn't finish) her roast beef sandwich. Plenty of filling food! Service was great and we really enjoyed the 'saloon' interior - always love the textured meatal ceiling.

Service took forever, they squeezed four people into 2 top tables. The food was straight off a Sysco truck frozen and thrown in a fryer.

We tried the Grande Nacho Supreme. There was enough for two. They were great. Neat place with good food and atmosphere. Only regret is they close for the winter. We will be back when they open next spring.

First night in Hill City and decided to try Bumpin' Buffalo's. We were very impressed with the food and the service (especially since they were starting to get very busy) ... started with the tater kegs appetizer - yummy!!! If you like tater tots - this is a must try! I had half-size hot beef ... good size portion and delicious! Hubs had the French dip - he was very satisfied too! Atmosphere is fun and inviting! The drinks (wells) were on the expensive side ... but they didn't skimp on the alcohol. We really enjoyed our visit!

I’ve eaten here several times, and this hiking trip, I took my hubby. He loved it so much that we didn’t eat anywhere else. Nothing here disappoints for flavor! Delicious and filling! Our waitress was super nice, and even though they were busy, we felt like our food arrived in a timely manner. We will be back next season! I’m not sure why anyone would complain about the price. I didn’t find it unreasonable at all, especially for being in the Hills.

Have eaten here several times and we were never disappointed. The hot beef sandwich is my favorite, lots of beef and mashed potatoes with gravy. Have always found a buffalo burger to be dry but healthy. Cold beer and ice tea. Very friendly wait staff, they would stop to visit if they had time. They have many interesting and historic items, very old bar back , toys, etc. Give it a try if your in town ,worth the trip from Rapid City. We'll be back!

It's a hit or miss. Certain items on the menu like the buffalo burger are pretty boring. The hot beef combo or the brisket sandwich are both incredibly good.I would recommend reworking the menu a bit to get rid of surcharges. Extra for cheese, extra for sides, extra for dips, it leaves a bad last impression when you get the ticket. It's annoying to have to sit there and think about all the stuff that will cost extra and it makes the overall experience worse. A simple menu is good.

We were seated immediately. Booth had its own TV, which is unique. Waited several minutes for the server. Waited several minutes for our drinks. They were not that busy. We wanted salads, so we both ordered the taco salad. The food eventually arrived. Didn't come with what was advertised but we did not complain. It wasn't very good. Very little lettuce, with a strange taco seasoning flavor. Obviously not their specialty.
