This restaurant is a solid 5-star with Incredible food and attentive staff. It is a a local favorite but this traveler will return! Legit hand breaded chicken fried steak and real mashed potatoes were perfectly prepared. No prebreaded steak or boxed mix used in our meal. Complimentary bread before the meal from their in house bakery was tender and tasty as was their coconut cream pie with authentic flaky, home style crust with fresh whipped cream topping and rich filling....read full review
The food and service are excellent! This is one of my favorite local places to eat at for a home-cooked meal. I especially love their @Home meals, pies, and the caramel rolls of course!
Good & service was awesome. Had a great time choosing supper at the take out freezers.

Colonial House Restaurant & Bar is a hidden gem offering a diverse menu with well-prepared dishes like liver and onions, hummus plate, Buffalo smothered steak, and walleye fish. The house salads are large, and the pies, especially the key lime pie, are magnificent. The ambiance features lots of antiques and memorabilia from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, creating a cozy and nostalgic atmosphere. Customers have praised the friendly service and the quality of the food, with some highlighting the hand-breaded chicken fried steak and homemade bread. The restaurant has standard handicap parking, reserved spots for pick-up customers, and is generally kid-friendly with wheelchair accessibility. Visitors also enjoy the full-service bar, which is perfect after a day of sightseeing. Many note that the food is good and plentiful, though some find it not very flavorful and prefer to add salt, pepper, and Tabasco to spice things up. The cinnamon and caramel rolls are highly recommended as the best ever, being soft, fully cooked, and delicious. Overall, Colonial House Restaurant & Bar remains a popular spot for families and travelers alike.
