I was told because it was a smaller steak it would be harder to cook it rare and Pittsburgh style. And of course it was not rare. This was so ridiculous I did not say a thing to prevent confrontation. Anyone who has cooked steaks and I have cooked thousands on open flames, they just come off sooner. So very disappointing trip. We used to eat here once a month. We'll see going forward. Harry and Sandi

Our food was wonderful, so delicious and unique. Visually the restaurant is warm and inviting, hefty flatware, clean. With such a special restaurant, I think the music should follow suit. It was modern country and a tad too loud. Now, our poor, sweet server was having a bad night. I think they might have been busy earlier or understaffed but she was not together. She was repeatedly forgetful. It took her 3 times to remember my lemon and my son's second beer was an afterthought that came just before his dessert. She was apologetic and very nice but honestly, it was not very good service. I hope she was just having a bad day. Overall though, the food was so exceptional, we excused her lacking service qualities.

Overall, it was a good dining experience. I made reservations and arrived early, about 15 minutes. The woman behind the desk was wearing a hoodie, and I wasn't sure if she worked there, was part of the cleaning crew, or what. I told her I had a reservation, and gave her my name. She asked us to have a seat, as our table hadn't cleared yet. We sat down and waited as other diners came in, were seated, over and over. Finally, after about 30 minutes, I went back to desk to ask how much longer. She acted like she had no idea who I was and asked my name again. She repeated that our table hadn't been cleared yet, and it would be a few minutes! Finally, a young lady came over, looked at the computer, and sat us. The rest of the dining experience was excellent, and Brandi was delightful!

The rib eye and walleye were delicious. I had the mashed potatoes as a side, and it was gluey and cold. The Brussel sprouts, soup, and fry bread were amazing.

I just wanted to share our wonderful experience at Dakotah Steakhouse! We had a group of five adults, one 8-year-old, and two very energetic toddlers. We couldn’t have asked for a better setup than the private room they gave us. It worked out perfectly for our group.

The food was absolutely top-notch. The steaks were perfectly cooked to order, flavorful and tender. The salads were fresh and crisp, and the rolls (a unique fry bread served with bourbon butter) were a delicious.

What really made the night exceptional was our server, Trevor. He was incredible, so attentive, kind, and on top of every detail. He kept drinks full, promptly handled every request, and even made sure the kids’ meals came out first, which we really appreciated.

If you’re looking for a great dining experience with fantastic food and truly outstanding service, I highly recommend Dakotah Steakhouse!

Among many elegant menu items, one will find all the South Dakota specialties : Chislic, Buffalo/Bison Steak and Burger, Fried Bread (free), Kuchen, and so much more! Everything is a delicious delight like no other.

Amazing experience! I had the walleye. It was absolutely amazing. 👏
My husband loved his chislic on a stick and my daughter gobbled down her steak. We all were extremely impressed with our dishes. Love the unique menu and great flavors!

This place was fantastic! Great food, great service, and excellent value. Unlike most higher end steakhouse's, it came with sides. I got the tomahawk Cowboy ribeye and it was perfection. And it was only $75 with a salad and baked potato. That's half of what it would cost where im from. Hands down the best meal we had in South Dakota.

Great food! Stopped by on our visit from NC to SD. What made the visit special was our server Danica. She was very sweet and attentive. We had our 6 and 4 year old with us and she treated them as if they were the royal guests of honor! We will go back there because of her!

I opted for the Wague rib eye which was a first. It was tender and cooked as ordered but it had so much butter and lacked flavor other then the butter. My wife had the Walleye and said it had a kind of sweet taste to it. My grandson had the sirloin and liked it. For 190$ I expected a lot more. Our waiter Sig was good and the atmosphere was superior. If the drop the butter and season the steak with Mccormick steak seasoning it could have made it better.⁹
