Visited for lunch and enjoyed our meal. Not a very fancy place but had some character. It was Sunday so wine bar and gift shop not open. We enjoyed our fish and chips and reuben sandwich and service was good.

We stopped in for an early dinner. Waitress helped with some suggestions. Good meals. Nothing fancy but good service.

We had a great time here, right in the heart downtown Rapid City. We almost skipped this establishment due to a few of the other reviews, but decided to give it a try and I'm glad we did. There are 3 parts to the place: the winery, brewery/restaurant, and a rooftop. I had their flight (it was like $14 to try all 9 beers they had on tap) and enjoyed several of the beers. All of the food we had was great and the service was fast. We left with a Mt. Rushmore-themed wine bottle and a crowler. Our waitress was great as well.

It is a beautiful and historic building, but it is overpriced and overrated. I have been there multiple times over the past decade and I have never left there thinking “wow, that was amazing”. The menu has no flow whatsoever. Last time I was there, there was nothing on it that sounded good. I ended up getting some sausage plate which did have okay bbq sausage and beans, but I definitely do not recommend the coleslaw - not good. Everything is just so lack luster and disappointing. I always give places a few tries, but I’m done trying here.

Great spot. Lots of seating and they can do large parties. A lot of their downstairs seating is high top tables. Good food, big proportions and good service.

Quaint restaurant/bar/brewery with great food and service. Visited at opening so was a little quite. Decor is nice and historic. Food and drink excellent. A must on our return.

The food was fine, but nothing spectacular. Service was a little slow due to not having enough help.

Another city, another brew pub, another three star review--but that's not all bad--because establishments such as the Firehouse Brewing Company ensures that cross-country travelers like us can get decent beer and food in places like Rapid City. I ordered a bison burger basket along with my beer. Bison can be a tad dry compared to beef, and that was somewhat true for my sandwich--but not terribly so. The fries were generic but adequate. The beer was fine -- as I recall I ordered a red ale, or amber ale. The fire department decor made sense as the building apparently was a firehouse at one time. Service was OK though it took flagging down a server from another table to get our second beer. Servers should be selling, especially when customers are ready to buy.

This place is huge and amazing. Fun atmosphere and lots to look at for decor. Huge open area that looks down on the first floor, will definitely stop again.

The Firehouse is in the older part of the city, but that part of Rapid City is beautiful and well maintained. Lots of shopping nearby. We stopped in the Firehouse and had a great lunch. It was quiet with excellent service and delicious food. My wife had an overly large pork sandwich, and I had a simple burger and fries. Both were larger than we expected and tasted fabulous. Next time in Rapid City it will be a great place to “chow down”.
The highlight of this place is the building and interior which is probably not a great sign if you are a restaurant. I would probably lower this review to 2 1/2 stars if able. As mentioned, the interior of the building is pretty fun. We sat in the second level in sort of a niche that overlooked the first floor. Cool table. The problem here is that the food is very very average and it is most definitely overpriced. I ordered fish tacos and my memory is they were $16 for two very average tacos. The fish was fried and bland mixed in what seemed like a sea of cabbage. I love fish tacos and order them frequently, and these need a lot of work. My son said his burger was just OK and I think it was around $16 dollars as well. The restaurant is in the old downtown area which is a cool area in Rapid City and worth walking around, but you can definitely find better fare at a different restaurant. Might be worth a visit just to check out the interior, but if you do I would lower your food expectations.

We ended up eating here 2 nights. The first night we sat outside(alley area to side of restaurant). The service was great, food excellent. The second night we had to wait for table inside-not enough staff for outside seating. It went downhill from there. Food was ok, and service extremely slow.

Server was friendly and efficient. The food was nothing to write home about and over priced. My Reuben was small and didn’t have dressing on it. There was some sauce on the side that came with it but it didn’t belong on a Reuben. The seasoned rice was dry and heavily seasoned with pepper. The blue burger was okay but again not worth the price. We were seated outside and shown to a table in the sun. I declined and she moved us next to the giant fire pits. It was way too hot. Two other groups came in and also had to ask to move out of the sun and then were moved near the fire pits. We won’t be back.

On our way to SD we kept seeing signs in the interstate. Each sign had an old firehouse. My boyfriend is retired FDNY so thought we would check it out after a day of sightseeing. We had also gotten a suggestion from a couple we had met. We were not disappointed. We shared the fire caps as an appetizer. I had the Buffalo lasagna and my boyfriend had spontaneous heating. Both were very good and the portions were large. The beer was also very good.

Had lunch and it was ok no wow factor here. They have so many ads posted along the Highway we had high hopes it would be awesome. Server came over quickly and our beers were tasty but our food was not great though my husband did enjoy his Rueben sandwich. I did not enjoy the first try of Tuna Caesar Salad and sent it back because it was soaked in dressing and there were two pieces of raw tuna on top. Pictures show the first salad I sent back and the second salad is the one they replaced it with and it was good but so much aggravation I lost my appetite.
