Just had hot coco and hot apple cider while we walked through the park watching the light display. Always a fun experience.

Below average ice cream shop in a unique location with views of the original Sioux Falls

We are a big fan of Sioux Falls and whenever we are in the area we come to this park and eat at this cafe. There is a lot of variety so there should be something on the menu for everyone. We generally like to sit outside so we can enjoy the falls and the view. And you can hike and take a walk around the area before or after you eat. I highly recommend!

The food was warmed. The buns were COLD! Is a nice place to meet up and have a quick bite. Sioux Falls is a fantastic place and rich history to visit.

This is one of the only places close by the downtown falls to grab lunch if you're hungry and in a pinch. And it has ZERO gluten-free options except ice cream... sort of. It had one ice cream flavor that was safe. Note that I have no problem having ice cream for lunch! ‍ And this cafe carries locally-made Stensland Family Farms ice cream, which I'd been wanting to try anyway. The only flavor that was gluten-free AND nut-free was the dark chocolate. At first there was very little flavor to it (it was super dark). Then it got better. And better. Overall it was delicious! It also settled well on my stomach (some ice cream upsets it) and I think that had everything to do with how their ice cream is made (see photos). Hubs had the flatbread pizza and said it was really good, so I'm giving this place 3 stars instead of 2. Would be nice, though, since it's in such a touristy location if it offered at least ONE gluten-free option (that wasn't just an overpriced, pre-made fist-sized "salad" full of ice berg lettuce and a couple mini tomotoes). If it's not 90 degrees out or freezing, there's a great little patio overlooking the falls (hence the cafe's name) where you can enjoy your bite to eat and the comforting sound of the water. The service was fast, though the staff didn't seem too knowledgeable about allergies, so I didn't really talk to them much. A little training & one or two GF options would earn this place a higher review.

Great for a quick drink and view but don’t eat the over prices disgusting food. My first time to falls park and was excited they had a cafe so I could get lunch, take in the views and work. I ordered a $13 hamburger that was obviously a frozen and microwaved burger and the bun have no clue what that was. Ate a few bites and tossed it with a drink $21 bucks wasted. And to top it off they did not have guest wifi and my t-mobile hotspot was not working in this area.Again come for a drink and a view and skip the food.

Kitchen isn't open on Sundays, so had to eat grab from the pre-made coolers. Wish we could've tried the menu, though. As someone who can not have ice cream, I was very happy to see they had non dairy treats available. The Strawberry Sorbet was wonderful, bursting with fresh flavor in every bite.

I don't really have a complaint except to say this place has weak management and supervision. The Sioux Falls park was busy with good weather and crawling with people on a weekend in July. Its prime time, prime season and the cafe closed their kitchen in early afternoon. If that's the policy thats their choice. BUT, let everyone know. Put signs up or advertise. Let people know. I'm sure we were not the only tourists who would have patronized this cafe if they offered meals. Instead, they offered only hot dogs and ice cream. If you want to offer ice cream and hotdogs don't call yourself a cafe- it suggests you have more to offer. I have no complaints with the young people who are employed there. This is a management and marketing issue. With social media there is no reason to leave customers in the dark. Put it out there- cafe hours and menu. Ice cream parlor menu and hours. Its basic business sense.

Craving iced coffee while visiting the falls? Better then the alternative we all know who...Not bitter, very decent iced coffee with a splash of milk. Not a milk fan? There's alternative available as well as creamer.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps into building.

The overlook Cafe is pretty limited in food options, but we got the daily special and it was surprisingly good. The building is beautiful and eating while overlooking the falls right outside is a cool experience. Def recommend for a casual lunch spot.
