“It was the BEST Indian food I’ve ever had. So fresh and so much flavour. We are staying at Motel 6 and you can walk over. We came for supper and will come back tomorrow. For samosas I’m sure. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and music. The waitress was so nice… 5 stars ⭐️ . Or maybe 10 if we can do that. Highly recommended! HOLLI and Corey. It was a Mother’s Day dinner.”

I found the dinner meal lacking...no potatoes or rice or pasta with our chicken. Listed as having squash and kale. The squash was thin puree, maybe 1.5 teaspoon?
Kale, possibly 1.5 tablespoon?
Delicious. Topped with cherry jam? Delicious.
Recommend but didnt anticipate the small portions.

“We are new to Swift Current, and so thankful our realtor recommended we try Wongs for good Chinese food. The buffet is wonderful, so fresh, so tasty. We have since ordered out, and returned with friends to try out the menu. Every time just so delicious!! The staff are magnificent, know the menu, and fun. Highly recommend and can't wait to introduce visiting family members to Wongs menu.”

“Traveling through Canada and looked for a breakfast restaurant and this won the choice!

The restaurant was busy and there was only one waitress. Felt bad for her. Seemed like just one cook or person in the kitchen too. They did a great job with such little staff. The problem with that is we felt bad asking for anything like coffee or water refills because we didn’t want to add more to her work load.

Food was good. Tasty. Good portions.

In spite of being the only waitress, she was very friendly.”

“My monthly supper club went to Horizons last night. Excellent service, delicious food and peanut butter pie to top it all off! I had the Sooo Gouda Brisket Sandwich with house chips and house made dill dip... it's my new favorite meal! I highly recommend checking this restaurant out. New menu options, gluten free menu and the best desserts 😁”

“For a small town hotel Bar and Grill this is beyond five stars. If I could title this review it would be BEST WINGS IN TOWN! Maybe even the province and prairies.

The atmosphere is a bit outdated, but given how clean and comfortable it was who really cares? If I want high-end, I’ll look for that. Lots of VLT’s for those that are interested, excellent variety on the food menu, cold beer, and lots of bar options. If you’re considering this place, you’re obviously the person that should go. Probably not the best place for kids but might be during the day.

It would be a disservice if I called this a dive bar. I love the name and the image from the outside, but it’s definitely a place that has pride of ownership and people who care about what they do and it shows. Would love to buy a Smileys T-shirt so here’s hoping they bring on some merch someday.

My server was fantastic, attentive, actively working not just standing around, and extremely friendly. Lots of big screen TVs to watch sports on, and the crowd is very tame and quiet. Although I was there on a slow night, I’m sure it gets busier, but the clientele seems to be suitable for anyone.

Now to the food. I ordered wings. As I inferred above, these are probably in the top five wings that I’ve had in Canada. I am not a casual wing eater. I cook or order wings at least twice a week, double that in my younger years. I’m not saying this as somebody who expects 20 wings in a basket or strictly eats wings on wing night or when they’re on special. If Dave Portnoy did a one bite chicken wing review, these would be as close to a 10 out of 10 as possible if not a 10. Crispiness was instant and durable. Other than wings that sat in a bit of sauce, every surface was crispy. With that said about the sauce, it was very well portioned, not too much not too little, just enough in case you want to soak up a little more on your wing and also not feel like you’re drinking sauce. The meat was white and extremely well cooked, no question on freshness. None of that black stuff from being frozen. These were clearly fresh and high-quality. My order had eight wings, great proportion of drum and flat and larger than I usually prefer, however, given the quality of the cook, crisp factor, flavour of the sauce, and perfection of the cook I’d take it any day. At $14.50 regular price this is absolutely the best value I have ever had given the quality of this wing. If you’re looking for volume and getting the most wings for the least amount of money, go somewhere else. If you want the best wings you ever had go to Smiley’s. They have the whole package, price, flavor, crisp, freshness, sauce, portion and light dusting of seasoning. These are absolutely amazing!!”

All the staff was very friendly and while there was an issue with the computer, the staff quickly notified us and honestly, we received our food in no time at all (we wouldn't even have known there was an issue if we weren't informed). we would definitely eat here again next time we visit Swift Current. “We stopped by Saturday afternoon after my kids' soccer game and the whole family got fed fast without any meltdowns at the table. The stuffed crust pepperoni was a hit with both kids, and honestly I stole a slice too because it was that good. Staff were patient with us even though we came in a bit loud and messy from practice, refilling drinks without us having to ask twice. Parking right out front made unloading two tired kids so much easier, and we will definitely be back on another busy weekend.”
