Ordered steak and shrimp. I/2 ounce of steak max maybe a whole ounce of shrimp with 2 lbs of rice. So disappointing this used to be good and worth the money but not anymore. Just a sad excuse😠
horrible. the hours are seriously the worst. always closed which is so stupid. ive gone multiple times and theyve been closed every single time
This place is just the best! I love hibachi style food and so far this place is ranked second in the tricities for me. What makes this place different from others is that their rice is perfectly prepared with the add ins like carrot, corn, and peas. Also, with the dinner special the default side is NOT carrots, it's actually zucchini and onion which I prefer. They're cooked fork tender but with a healthy bit of bite left to them. I love the massive helping of onions that are almost caramelized on the edges. Simply delicious, and the staff is always kind. 10/10

My daughter-in-law and I were spending some special time together and decided to eat at this restaurant. This was our first time. Absolutely everything we had was very good. The portions were very generous, literally piled high and out to the edge of the plate. Our waiter was attentive, professional, kind and personable. He was knowledgeable about Gluten Free restrictions and and able to indicate incompatible options. If you're a couple, they have tables for two with two individual chairs. No booths here. I'm thinking of taking my wife here for our upcoming anniversary in two weeks. You won't be disappointed.

The restaurant is aged and smells like an assisted living facility inside. The service was friendly enough. The food lacked flavor and seasoning. The shrimp werenβt deveined and were tough/ rubbery. The rice was caked and overcooked. The windows had peeling artwork and were dirty. The is a below average restaurant that charges a premium price.

Must be nice to be so busy and have so much business that you constantly take the phone off the hook so people can't order.
The food is amazing, the best Japanese food around in my honest opinion. The service is great, our waitress was perfect.

Shoku in Blountville has been going downhill for quite some time, but today was by far the worst. I waited a HOUR for a to go order they said would be ready in 30 minutes. They didn't care, they didn't offer me anything for the inconvenience. The staff member told me to have a nice day when I complained, dismissing my time they wasted. It was very disrespectful.
While I am there waiting I ran into some of my friends. They go up to pay with their receipts and because the party was over eight they were charged a gratuity fee of 20%, which did not surprise me. But on top of that fee there was a $.53 hospitality fee. When I asked what that fee was for, the cashier said it was the fee the system charged to use it. Not the credit card use fee but the fee there internal system charges to use a Point of Sale System. How is that fair to the customer? We are already struggling to even go out to eat, let alone get more fees added to our bills.
Bottom line-Shoku has been less and less customer service oriented for a long time but now they have lost my business entirely and I hope my friends also. No customer should have to wait a hour for a to go order from a business who doesn't care they wasted your time nor should you be charged because that business chooses to use a POS system.
So if you do decide to go there be prepared for high prices, an additional .53 cents and possibly a really long wait followed by the kind of customer service that told me to NEVER RETURN.

Have went three times once ate no problems great food. Second came mid day couldnβt eat because an odd time they close. Third time came at 8:39 and was turned away because they close at 9. If you want to close early close early. Iβll never be back too much of a hassle
