Nice place. Food was good. I’d recommend it. I had the catfish bites, blackened mahi sandwich, fries, and coconut cake. Everything was good, but the catfish bites were probably my favorite.

We come to Sportsman every couple of months. Great variety of food and drinks and good service. Tonight I had red beans and rice and my wife had a very nice burger.

Excellent service. Server was attentive without smothering. Left us alone when we said we weren't in a hurry but subtly kept a quiet check on our table!

Had an amazing experience! Our server was Kyle, he was extremely attentive and the food came very quickly. Checked on us 3 to 5 minutes. I got pan fried walleye. It was some of the best I've had outside of Northern Illinois!

You feel like you're at a mountain Lodge because of the decor here. Menu is large and never had anything bread here. Service is awesome. We stop here every year on our way home. Definitely recommend checking this out. We usually eat in the bar address.

We went out for a friend’s birthday dinner and the waitress was very friendly when we saw her. The appetizer portions of bam bam shrimp and fried mushrooms were extremely small for the price. The food was very bland and again, over priced. After a very long wait time for our entrees, I immediately sent back my fried walleye because it was extremely soggy. It seemed like the food had been cooked and then set on the counter. For a $32 walleye platter, the fish should either be crispy and hot, or a larger portion than a single piece of fish and two small sides of a scoop of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. I was really looking forward to this restaurant because I’m from the Midwest and wanted a bit of nostalgia but nothing really hit. It seems like this food preys on an older generation with bland food and high prices. For a Tuesday evening and a half empty restaurant the wait time seemed longer than necessary. Again, the waitress was very nice but seemed like she was pulled thin between multiple tables.

Some of the best pulled pork and cornbread I’ve had in a long time.

Chicken Parm & Bourbon Bacon Burger were great. Onion rings...ok. A bit dark inside at 4pm, but that's no reflection on the food.

Sportsman’s Grille was a nice place to eat with a friendly atmosphere for our teacher’s luncheon. It is tucked away near the interstate so you need to know where to turn in to find it.
I ordered the SG Salad. It was a bit pricey for $15 with no meat and pretty ordinary. It would be nice if they could add a few more vegetarian options to the menu and jazz up the salad.
I’m not sure I’ll return any time soon.

MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT!
Ordered a grilled chicken breast. The moment they brought it out, I could tell that it was a very poor quality of meat (I honestly get a better quality of meat at Kroger).
The breast was very thin and flat. Extremely dry, bit into a piece of fat and it was extremely over cooked. Sadly, I’ve had better chicken at fast food restaurants like Raising Canes.
I asked if they could try again without overcooking it. No luck, second time around, it still came back overcooked, still flat and bland and still very low quality of meat.
For $23.00 it did not even come with a small salad unless I wanted to pay an additional $7.00.
Service was slow as well.
Then ordered a simple dessert thinking surely they can’t mess this up. Wrong again.
It was a brownie with ice cream. Brownie was hard as a rock and served in an odd shaped glass, which made it difficult to eat.
I LOVE the atmosphere but unfortunately, we will never return due to the subpar quality of their food, small portions versus price, slow service and a chef that apparently does not know how to cook. Please do better.

Restaurant is built to remind you of a log cabin lodge from out west and it hits the mark. Real fireplaces, antler chandeliers and a great log ceiling creat a wonderful atmosphere. The service is friendly and the homestyle comfort food is always great with large portions.

The know before you go about needing a flashlight to read the menu was not a lie. It’s dark in there! The food & service was great though.
