“First time here. Came for breakfast before a wedding and had a ham and cheese omelet, toast and bacon. Hot, fresh and delicious at a good price! Service was fast, friendly and continuously checking to see if we needed anything more.Stopped back in for a late lunch and they had a bowl of chili and cornbread that sounded good, I figured it would be small, so I went ahead and ordered a grilled ham and cheese sandwich as well. I was wrong about the size of the bowl and the chili that came in it was DELICIOUS! The service was great as well! If I make it down here again, this is a great place for a break and food!!“

“The food is good and so is the service. It is a beautiful new building with plenty of big glass windows with great views of the lake. The problem is the glass looks like it has a film on it. If you have all that glass, keep it clean. I would say this is an upscale place. At least you would think so, seeing the prices , but the table tops are chipped, and they have mustard and ketchup displayed on every table like a 1950s diner. It's a shame the new lodge is only a year old. In closing, I noticed that the same banister was loose just like it was a year ago when we were first here. Disappointing.“

“This is a must place to come eat if you're in paris tn or coming to visit everyone is friendly and welcomes you like family.. everything they serve is delicious and well proportion..... be careful on the size hamburger you order because you will be finding yourself biting off more than you can chew, which is ok because it makes great leftovers..... ? ? ?“

“Just plain good food in a quiet, quaint atmosphere with vintage license plates and decor on the walls. Hours are limited to lunchtime M-F. Soup and/or sandwich specials are announced weekly. Potato bar and homemade desserts are usually available. Yum!“

“I think this is some of the best food I’ve had in a VERY long time! The sirloin steak was DELICIOUS and cooked to perfection, the baked potato was fully cooked and not dry and the hamburger steak and onion rings homemade and sooooooo good. Local owned, old fashioned cafe, and if we lived here this would be our weekly place. We just love this place!“

“Fun spot...think of cheers but on the border of rural KY/TN...Murray state being close by, a few miles down the road in KY and another college in Martin TN the other direction.... Smack in the middle, an ecclectic group of clientele frequent here on regular schedules with the college students filling in all the gaps....the staff is the glue that keeps the regulars coming and the atmosphere cheery;)“

“Came here this morning for breakfast from Tennessee. Waited a little long for our food, but it was cooked fresh so worth the wait. Love the small town diner feel. I got the Spanish omelette with no bacon. It was delicious. Also came with 2 biscuits and a big bowl of gravy. Biscuits were hot, soft and fresh. Gravy was excessively salty. My boyfriend got a breakfast plate with 2 eggs over medium, a huge plate of home fries, 2 sausage patties, 2 biscuits, a big bowl of gravy and an even bigger bowl of grits and an endless cup of coffee. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. The grits would be much better if made with milk but I understand water is way more cost effective than milk. Our total was around $18. Great price for great breakfast and large portion sizes. Our server was also very friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area. Can't wait to try the supper.“

“Went with my husband and mother-in-law on a Sunday afternoon. We were hoping to get breakfast but learned that they had just stopped serving breakfast. Disappointed, I ordered a cheeseburger and tots - not really expecting to enjoy my food as I had really wanted breakfast. That was a couple months ago and I have dreamt about that amazing cheeseburger and tots ever since! That was the best damn cheeseburger I have ever had (and I'm no spring chicken) and the tots!...well they were the perfect mix of crunchy on the outside and soft fluffy potato on the inside. DELICIOUS! Also, the service was spot on; very friendly and attentive. Our server did a great job anticipating our needs and making sure we were happy. She also was very apologetic about the breakfast thing even though that was our fault - not theirs. Husband got the philly - and he enjoyed his meal as well. Oh and our meals were also very reasonably priced. Great little local spot for a quick bite and friendly service!!“

“Delicious fish, slaw, fries, hush puppies, fried shrimp, loaded baked potato soup, and chocolate cheese cake! All tasty, hot, and fresh. Efficient and knowledgeable front counter service and helpful and caring dining room service. Great bar height table seating with comfortable, cushioned chairs excellent for us older folks, easier than getting down and up in a booth. Wonderful Monday Captain D's lunch experience at a much better price than the upscale restaurant next door that was closed.“

“Finally found after 5 years in TN and excellent Chicago style restraunt. We lived in Chicago all our life and had Uno's, Lou's, Giordianos, etc.. only wish you cudopen a restraunt closer to us in Oakfield,TN we desperately need a great Chicago restraunt not a wannabee restraunt of Chicago style which is so inconsistent one time good then 3othrr times worse and worse. Ty Aces for being a " true Chicago Restraunt".“
