I was a Regular customer for years until my last visit on December 4th, 2025. I went to the Ankar's on Hixon Pike. I'm 70 years old and went and placed my order. The girl who took my order was very rude and quite dumb. I'm a smoker and have been since I was 12, I had just left the Hobby Lobby on 153 and thought I get what I have always gotten go to the lake and eat. Traffic was terrible and without thinking after I placed my order had what was left of my cigarette in my hand. I had no ash tray to put it in seeing I put my ashes out the window while driving and didn't want to litter their driveway with my cigarette I held onto the butt. This is where it started. Upon driving upholding a dead cigarette the girl slammed the window open took my card slammed the window closed opened it up again yelled something pointing to a sign taped to the window slammed the window shut again then open again handed me my order slammed the window closed again. All this took maybe 45 seconds. Now here is my point after reading their sign on smokers. Don't put up signs at the drivein windows after the fact. You don't want people driving up smoking put the sign on the order page. Not when your already there. And also, you get more pollution from the cars exhaust than somebody sitting in their car. Got your message and since you don't like smokers my business is done there. I'll go somewhere else. I don't need a Tenny bobber telling me crap. I was in my car which legally is a private area. Bye, Never Eat there again.

Been here hundreds of times including the Brainerd road location. Food is amazing and fresh. Nice family. Get the steak in a sack and you will not be disappointed. Onion rings are the best except Nikki’s (closed)

Drive thru staff is extremely unprofessional, arrogant, and rude. The food is not as good as it used to be.

The best onion rings on the planet! No one else even comes close!! Always great service. Family owned and operated. Andrew is the best restaurant owner in Chattanooga. Everybody go out and say hi to him!

I went through the drive thru and a very sweet boy answered. When I pulled up I saw he was the only one taking orders up front and in the drive thru and he was still quick. His name is Rowan (if I'm spelling that correctly) and hes amazing!!

They had wonderful customer service and great food. I think my wife and her grandma, grandpa and Aunt for leading us to this stop on our way to Georgia. It was fantastic

I ordered Ankers via DoorDash & let me just say the sandwich “special hoagie” was DISGUSTING! It was worse than store bought lunch meat.. it was similar to jail cafeteria meat. I couldn’t eat any of it. Very disappointed. Won’t ever order from there again.

I have eaten at Ankar’s since the 1980’s. When I come home to Chattanooga, I always go to the Hwy. 58 location & get a steak in a sack with Swiss cheese and an order of onion rings. I just got one today. My Dad had told me it wasn’t as good as it used to be. I got my favorite today & ate one dry, disgusting onion ring. They didn’t put the Swiss I paid extra for on the sandwich and the meat was too salty & was definitely not the recipe that the original owner used. Not to mention, it was about half the size that it used to be. I guess my craving died with the owner. I miss that wonderful family in the kitchen & hope the new management gets the old recipes back. Until then, I’ll eat somewhere else.
