I ordered chicken and dressing and it was ok but I barely received dressing and the shredded chicken was dry

When I first pulled up and seen the place I said that the food has to be amazing. I'm from Miami and all of the soul food restaurants that look a little run down has the best food. I must say that I'm a little disappointed with Herman's. The customer service was awesome and everyone from the lady at the register to the cooks were super friendly and very polite. But the food didn't live up to the hype. I had 2 plates of the smothered pork chops with white rice. Two sides of candy yams, one mac and cheese, one green beans and one fried corn on the cob with corn bread. They do give you plenty of food, the pork chop dinner came with two smothered pork chop (drowned in gravy) that didn't have any flavor on it other than the gravy. The corn bread didn't taste fresh at all and tasted a little bland. The mac and cheese tasted like it came out of the box and they just added some cheese to it, there was no kind of seasoning. The green beans were bland like it came straight out of the can. The candy yams were overly sweet and had way too much nut meg and/or all spice. I even tried some dessert, peach cobbler which was really watery and very little crust and a slice of pound cake which was okay for a plain pound cake. Unfortunately I would have to give Herman's 4 out of 10 stars.

It doesn’t matter what we order everything we’ve tried is amazing. Taste just like you’re sitting at your grandmother‘s Kitchen table.

Food was mid we took my father there for fathers Day he got the steak the steak was not seasoned enough and the gravy tasted bland and the greens was like canned greens.
There was no indoor seating available and they was so rude we asked for a slice of onion we didn't until the owner came out and checked on us and ask if we needed anything and the first lady that runs in the orders had such an aditude.

I have always eaten here.

Feels like the quality of food has gone down. Roll was stale, fries were unsalted, coleslaw was no good this time around, and the rice was cold. It tasted like it was instant-rice/microwave. The kids macaroni I ordered had okay flavour but was very, very mushy. Overall, a very mediocre meal from a place that i used to think was pretty good. Not worth the price that was paid.

For me not being from here, this is the best spot with respectable and quick customer service.

This was my first time at Herman's not only was the food good, but the lady behind the counter was super friendly and funny. She welcomed us with open arms. Only down side, was the sides could have been a little more. Overall good food

Herman's is the best, cooked with TLC recomend anyone to stop by for a delightful experience.
