I was in town for a project and Spoonys was recommended to me. I'm so glad I came on a day they were open. I was told to get the catfish platter, so I did and rounded it off with onion rings and cole slaw. The cornmeal crust on the catfish was crispy and seasoned just right. The fish was tender and one of the best catfish I ever had. The onion rings were battered and stayed crunchy. The hush puppies were a nice accompaniment. I enjoyed the iced tea sweetened with the pineapple...
Found Spoony’s on google maps passing through Cleveland so hoping to help someone else find it that way too. Delicious catfish, wings, and out of this world gumbo! We’ll be back.
A+ hush puppies, excellent fish. Unique Pineapple Tea. Southern soul food first Sunday each month. Music faintly plays Motown hits from the late 50s and 60s. Skip the chains and eat here.
