Beer Bars near Columbia

“Taps Off Main is such a great addition to downtown Columbia. They always have an awesome rotating selection of beers, and the staff is more than happy to let you sample and try different options before you buy. They’re also great at giving recommendations if you’re not sure what to get. It’s the perfect convenient spot on the Columbia square to grab a quick beer during lunch, after work, or just hang out with a small group of friends. The atmosphere is always chill and welcoming, and I love that they have board games and card games available to play. The outdoor sidewalk seating is also really nice on pretty days downtown. I also wanted to share that the owner graciously offered me a ride to my car today while I was waiting on maintenance work to be finished. Such a genuinely kind gesture that really speaks to the type of people they are. Great beer, great atmosphere, and great people. Highly recommend checking them out!“

I still think this is a great little hidden gem, but this time the only disappointment was that their onion rings are no longer what we experienced a couple years ago as whole onions dipped in a light crispy batter and now they are more like Burger King onion rings which are prefabbed without an actual onion slice in the middle. Everything else was great and tasted delicious and it is still a welcoming and friendly establishment!

I would give it a 4.5 if half stars were allowed. Food was very good, but a little under seasoned. Service was excellent, and the bar choices hit the spot for us. A great dive type bar where you feel welcome, can get some very good food, and be treated like a regular even on your first visit.“
