Went to Puckett’s in Tennessee expecting some classic Southern barbecue. What I got was a chicken half so dry it doubled as a sandpaper demonstration. The cornbread pancake? Tasted exactly like Manwich sloppy joe. The beans? Surprise—it’s the same flavor. Consistency is key, right? Even the water had that charming “just pulled it from the swimming pool” vibe.
Our waitress was so bland and unattentive I started wondering if she was part of the décor. The atmosphere had some charm, sure, but unless you’re into chewing on sawdust and soup-flavored bricks, skip the meal. Coming from New York, I can confidently say: I could do a better Southern barbecue at home.

Food is always great, reasonably priced and high quality. Service is ok and they can be really slow sometimes with your food so make sure you have time. Awesome TN atmosphere and they have great live music frequently.

Booked a table for 8 prior day,arrived few min early and there was a line out the door,but inside was half empty? We were seated,15 min later we received the drinks,20 min later two of 3 salads were brought, 1hr 5min later,asked to speak to manager and explained that we still have not received our order, she stated “we had a lg to go order to fill” this was not true as several ppl at different tables,that came in after us, had ordered, ate their meal and left, then the manager says well let me check where we’re at with your order 10 minutes later we all left. The manager never came back out. This is totally unacceptable, we never even received an apology.. I will never go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone.
UPDATE: I received the below comment from the owner and therefore gave them an opportunity to make it right, I emailed the manager the next day, never received any response, just showing how unprofessional he is as a manager, therefore I will not be removing my review, and will post on my social media the review, the response, the final update and of course HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TO DINE AT PUCKETTS IN COLUMBIA TN!!

I ordered the meatloaf and substitute the sides. They charged me $2.00 each to submit without informing me. So I was charged $19.99 for one piece of meatloaf. I'm changing my review levels because of the efficient of how the manager (Jimmy) handle the response. He apologized and corrected my order. This shows how willing Puckett is to keep their customers and the community happy. Thank you. 😊 I'll add pictures later.

Great food. Went here on a business meeting and was blown away by the food. Pimento cheese fried chicken club was really good. Chicken was juicy and Pimento cheese was the best I have ever had. Would go again. I haven't been to south in a while after moving away and the sweet tea was great, exactly what I was looking for. Service was great as well. Fast and polite.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. It was my twenty first birthday and the hostess was extremely rude to my mom. They forced to separate tables since we had a “big party and we weren’t allowed to move tables” but that was wrong according to the manager. Our food all came out cold and wrong. It was the absolute worst experience I have ever had I do NOT recommend. It wasn’t the waitress’s fault it was absolutely managements fault. People also walked out while we were there after waiting for so long and no one noticed either. It completely started my 21st off negatively.
