As the owner of my own BBQ joint (The Meadows Golf Center & All American BBQ) and an avid road tripper I'm always looking to up my game by touring the country in the off season. Found the FP while stopping at the nearby Buc-ees convenience store. Glad for the experience. My picky spouse ordered the Pork Steak and 2 sides special: it was a tasty bargain (and too big for the to-go box - see below)... light light dry rub and smoked to a moist tender perfection... delish-ioush! If my supplier can bring the pork steaks I'd serve them with dirty rice and a vinegar sauce. I'll be replicating the delicious pulled pork nachos using my own home-made cheese sauce and cuban black beans which might... maybe... top FP's version... it was really really good. Thank you for your quality BBQ and friendly service! If you're gassing up at Buc-ees in Crossville and yeah they serve BBQ too you are missing out if you don't drive around back and grab some serious Q at The Flying Pig!

Super fast, friendly service! Delicious food. The pulled pork, baked beans, and coleslaw were very good. Sweet tea perfect! It was not too sweet and yet not unsweet. For today's prices, this place was better than most. Bought the family picnic with a gallon of tea for $46 (after tax). Easily 2 meals worth of food for a family of 6.Parking: Next to save a lot. Large parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Great kid friendly atmosphere. Clean restrooms, too.

I would definitely recommend it. My wife and I are currently visiting from FL and for lunch on Tuesday, we were in the mood for some BBQ. The place gives a nice rustic feel with a friendly atmosphere. The food was pretty good and the banana pudding was awesome. I would definitely make this a regular spot if I lived in TN!

The atmosphere is rustic and warm with low lighting, comfortable not harsh. You order at the counter then seat yourself. The staff is friendly, they give good recommendations but the menu does change day to day so it looks like they keep the food fresh. The food comes out pretty quickly and the food is pretty darn good, would recommend! Had to finish with the nanner puddin!

The staff was super friendly. The potato was good, but not extraordinary, the ribs were fantastic, the nachos were cold...meat, toppings, cheese. We literally ate one bite each and threw the rest away. They added their tea 1/2 gallon at a time so you have to ask for refills and the sauce is kept behind the counter so you have to ask for each one. I was just overall disappointed.

This was our first time eating here and it will definitely be the last. We ordered 2 pork sandwiches, 2 sides and 2 drinks and the total came to $20.34. At first you'd think that's a pretty good deal and it might have been if ANY of it had been hot! Everything was cold! And they shouldn't be allowed to call this BBQ, none of the meat was seasoned, at all!, not even salt! They also do not put the sauce on the pork, it's just cold, bland pulled pork in a stale bun. Awful! We mistakenly assumed that the sandwiches would come with coleslaw but we were wrong. I went up to the counter to ask for some and the kid seemed aggravated that he had to even deal with a customer. The girl at the register did apologize, saying that she should have asked if we wanted slaw on the sandwiches. The only good thing I can say is that the inside was clean. But we won't be eating here again. It's really sad, there are already so few good places to eat in this town.

Fast service. Given that we placed our order just before closing time, it had decent tastes. It was mediocre on temperature. The ribs were tender. The smoked chicken lacked seasoning. Could tell the sides were not homemade. The restaurant itself looked new inside, was clean and the staff was very friendly. If in the area again, would try them again at a better time.
