Absolutely delicious pizza. We will be back.
It's a nice pizza place. The food was good and the ice cream was delicious. The bookstore part was closed but my kids loved the fish tank. The restaurant was quiet and not really busy.

My calzone was burned. It was hard to cut with a knife and hard to chew. When it was brought to our table they couldn’t miss it being burned. It smelled burnt!! I’ve always had good food here, and I know anyone could make this mistake, I sure have! I would not have served this to a paying customer.

Very good pizza for a locally owned non-chain pizza place. I'd definitely go there again.
This is an awesome place! You can look at books while waiting for your food.
We used 1st Avenue Pizza to cater our baby shower and we could not have been more pleased with the experience. Will was so easy to work with and very professional, always ensuring our satisfaction with our order. The food was delivered hot and fresh, and many of our guests made sure to comment on how delicious the food was. I highly recommend them for any catering needs!
Best Vegan pizza in town! A cute little book store with pizza and calzones.
Unique and charming atmosphere, great pizza, and very good ice cream. If you haven't come to this place...... you're missing out.
This has happened twice now, we waited 35 minutes for our pizzas (dine-in), others who ordered before us were still waiting also. Shockingly, ALL our pizzas came at the same time, ours were lukewarm. She offered to “warm them up or make a new pizza”. Sure, so I can wait while you process all the call-in/on-line orders first, thanks but no. Your pizza used to be REALLY good. Not so anymore.

Purchased three pizzas tonight, 3/1/25 and it took right at 45 minutes to get the pizzas with only one other group in the restaurant. When we finally got the pizzas two were cold. Worst pizza ever at 1st Avenue. We have been loyal customers since they opened but the last few times we have eaten here the quality keeps getting worse.
If you are in Dayton, this is the place to go for pizza. Really good crust and toppings. The gellato is great too!
They always cook my pizza perfectly and are always friendly and food comes basically as fast as a pizza can cook. As much pizza as I can eat and a drink for like $13 is a great deal these days. Very tasty and appreciate the relatively early opening time of 11 if I’m hurting from the night before.
Nice cozy place to have pizza made to order. They have books you could buy also! It's near downtown and next door to monkey town brewing.
Parking: There is a parking lot across the street and street parking but sometimes it's all packed. Further down the road there's more parking and a lot.
Kid-friendliness: It's pizza and a really awesome children's book area that has stuffed animals and different plushies
Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of seating and space

Lovely little place! By far the best pizza I’ve ever had, I normally get the BBQ chicken pizza. Service is great, I’ve never had a problem. :)
